Gee, which snarky remark does one make to this statement? Too.....many.....hurts.....head......but, here goes -
Yeah, but his term is up on 08. I thought she was killed in Pakistan? Nothing 550 Billion dollars won't cure. What are you talking about? Our H2s have faux carbon fiber trim which is awesome! You think it's bad now, wait until 08. ".........................................." Hillary (Obama, Edwards, Guillianni, Huckabee, Romney, etc.) takes over You don't like it here? Go live in France commie! Pakistan has McDonalds too. Throw your TV out the window. You'll live longer not watching the fear mongers. That's entertainment folks! Why do you think they have commercials between the bad news. |

They are viewed as extras in a movie. It's like we are watching Planet of the Apes. We see them as these unintelligent, violent morons that are determined to destroy themselves. Then we have an ad for the NEW, LARGER, whatever. We, the minority, who watch multiple news outlets, and are not lead like sheep, are not as dismissive. But it really doesnt matter. The huge percentage of our country is disconnected.

"If by "mission accomplished" you mean.... 1- Invading a country on a false premise. check 2 - Making life actually worse for Iraqis. check 3 - Making the U.S. a more hated target for more terrorists. check 4 - Entering a war (against your Dad's approval) w/o an exit strategy. check 5 - And my personal favorite - removing from power the one guy who hated Iran more than we do thus allowing a more fearsome enemy to expand it's influence. Iran is buddying up to Iraq with money and support. What next? Nice work. ![]()

You cannot destroy or kill ideology. You can however, drive it underground until it becomes more and more elusive.... We send our young men and women to hostile zones in order to defend a way of life in this country that we do not even defend at home against our politicians and special interests groups... Arguing against one another on this forum is entertaining none the less, but in reality it is nothing more than a reflection of the modern American's powerlessness and inaptness to control their future....

We learned a lot of hard lessons in the 20th century. WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and other smaller conflicts. We learned that isolation doesn't work. That eventually, the problems in those other places land on our door. Whether its via attacks on boats, military targets, planes into buildings, the spread of a regime, oil prices, the global economy or the proliferation of WMD.
A proactive foreign policy is a must. It's a must because we are the richest country, and that makes us an easy scapegoat for despots and dictators around the world. It's short-sighted for sure, but its a means to an end for those that seek power. Regardless of administration, I don't think that you will see this policy change much in our lifetimes. Proactive intervention is here to stay, and it only applies when there is security or financial interests. So don't expect much for Dafur.

I can't remember the last time I watched a tv show that had commercials I bothered to watch. I haven't watched network tv in years.
