Well, I got the check FedEx today. It's about $1,400. Apparently my great Grandmother owned 10 shares of the local bank, valued at around $1,600 each for a total of roughly $16,000. I get 1/12th of that.
My check is my portion plus my portion of the last dividend payment. Funny, I didn't get any dividend payments for the last 20 years...

I'd bet her original investment was at $10.00 per share (or $100 total). That would be about right. Dividends were reinvested maybe?
Weird that it didn't split over the years. |
