"Rearview mirror DVR captures everything in front of you"
This is cool:
![]() From Autoblog: Ever been in an accident and wished you had in-car camera footage so you could explain to everyone what really happened and why it wasn't your fault? If so, Brickhouse Security has the device for you: the rearview mirror camera recorder. Using a small camera mounted on the back of the rear view mirror, it records everything happening in front of your car. The footage is displayed on a 2.5-inch LCD screen on the face of the mirror, which also includes handy playback controls in case you just want to see the instant replay immediately, or relive the commute to work when you get there. Recording begins when the engine comes on and ends when the engine goes off. The media records to an SD memory card, is stamped with the date and time, and can be played back on any computer or a television. If there's any down side, it's that the mirror needs to be plugged in to your cigarette lighter to work. But that's the price of CSI ingenuity, and it will, heaven forbid, pay for itself the first time you can prove that "no-fault" accident was actually very much the other person's fault. Thanks for the tip, John! [Source: Brickhouse Security] http://www.autoblog.com/2008/02/06/rearview-mirror-dvr-captures-everything-in-front-of-you/ |

Pretty slick! I'll have to check that out.
I always run with my Archos recorder and helmet cam betwen the visors, recording everything. It'd be nice to get rid of the wire running to the glove box though....

An SCCA friend of mine just introduced me to this in-car camera for the track. I thought it was pretty nice for only $180.
http://www.goprocamera.com/index5.htm 3 megapixel sensor 2AAA batteries, 56 minutes of video to a 2G SD card.

ahhh, those will be standardized in a few more years.
Smart radios are already getting there. The next you know, you'll have your speed recorded too. Ahhh, I love technology ![]() @ the girls Pretty wacky since they look like Japanese chicks from the mid 90's ... can tell by their eyebrows and straight hair ![]() Wonder why they are marveling over her "new" cell phone ? Or is it her new "rabbit" ![]()

I was wondering why the women looked odd. The Japanese/Chinese chicks that go to school here dont look like those girls and the eye brows is it.
As for the camera: I dont like how it is in the rear view mirror. It would be better to be directed/shown on a GPS/DVD type screen. |
