Dubai, Puerto Banos, Monaco, Buenos Aires, Ankara, Sydney, Kuala Lumpur.

Out of the above, most realistic is Dubai. We've got sprawling family businesses and my grandpa has a few residential properties. With an American education and good english-speaking skills it would be easy to get a job and then work toward a masters in finance from American University Dubai.

I never want to leave Southern California forever though, never ever. I love where I live and I love the US, and there's no way I'd consider turning into some piece of ***** sellout coward who runs away if the president isn't perfectly aligned with his political views.

Finland, Finland, Finland
The country where I want to be
Pony trekking or camping
Or just watching TV
Finland, Finland, Finland
It's the country for me

You're so near to Russia
So far from Japan
Quite a long way from Cairo
Lots of miles from Vietnam

Finland, Finland, Finland
The country where I want to be
Eating breakfast or dinner
Or snack lunch in the hall
Finland, Finland, Finland
Finland has it all

You're so sadly neglected
And often ignored
A poor second to Belgium
When going abroad

Finland, Finland, Finland
The country where I quite want to be
Your mountains so lofty
Your treetops so tall
Finland, Finland, Finland
Finland has it all

Finland, Finland, Finland
The country where I quite want to be
Your mountains so lofty
Your treetops so tall
Finland, Finland, Finland
Finland has it all

Finland has it all

Or I could just go back to Florence, the Cotswolds, or my family roots in Switzerland.

During a long & varied working life, I have had the good fortune to live abroad a number of times, usually for a year or two. Really makes one appreciate the more subtle qualities of our freedom and democracy here in the good old USA.

Have made a home in Singapore, Brasil, Chile, Canada, and spent much time working between Taiwan, Hong Kong, Japan, and Germany, Ireland and the UK, if I were to go anywhere to live out of here (which I surely won't for a LOT of reasons) I would try very hard to ensconse myself in the wine country of central Chile, hopefully within 100 miles or so of Santiago. Best kept secret place on earth, that I have found.

"I never want to leave Southern California forever though, never ever."

- Calif. would be great if it had about 30 million fewer people. Especially if I can pick the ones to get rid of.

Yup. Friend of mine retired to Bagiuo. Cool. In the mountains. Some nice Spanish colonial architecture. Bought a nice house, and now claims he has trouble spending more than $1000.- per month.
