More Berkeley patriotism
My personal view is that they are entitled to their opinion, I think their expression of it is a bit over the top. Most folks who I know and am related to who were in the military seem to be of the opinion that they have and do fight for these folks rights to do exactly what they are doing.
They do however think they are stupid (as do I). Do I think they should loose out on all of the Federal money that is being threatened by this? Well...I'm not sure. Of course there is the point where these folks are impinging on the 1st amendment rights of the Marine recruiters. They should be allowed to do their job and while it is true that recruiters for the Military can be like used car salesmen they still are entitled to the rights. http://www.cnn.com/2008/US/02/12/berkeley.marines/index.html

Sure. If they don't want to be part of the USA, then why should we force them to be? Let 'em leave. Don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out. Have fun defending yourself from invasion by the Chinese or Mexicans, we won't.

Liberals are delusional. What do they think, that their standard of living comes without a cost? The cost of a modern induatrial standard of living is that there is going to be environmental degredation and that government and corporate interests are going to have to do unsavory things. To enjoy that standard of living and protest against the excesses is hypocritical in the extreme. If the Liberals were truly serious they would renounce the modern luxuries they enjoy and live a more simple life out in the woods of Montana. Otherwise who can take them seriousily.

Heh... obviously you've never been to Berkeley. The standard of living there is pretty crap indeed...

I've been told that only the bright attend Berkeley. My hope is that they are bright enough to realize when they are being fed Krap from their professors...

There's "bright" and then there's "smart enough to come in out of the rain". Oh wait, most of them could use a good shower. Nevermnd.

What I don't understand is why those left-of-center think that all federal money should be freely given--no strings attached.
They don't want conditions on welfare, on education money, on tax rebates (unless of course you actually deserve one based on what you paid in taxes). It seems to me to be common sense that if someone is writing the checks, they get to set the rules.
