A few months ago I came home in the middle of the day and saw a sign on my property overlooking interstate 5 for a home builder. It had been put up without my permission. I called the company and said WTF? The sales manager says he didn't know anyone owned the property (whatever dude). Anyway I wanted him to take it down and he says he'll give me $200/month for rent. I say $300 and he says OK. Got a check last week for $1,500 for five months (he threw in two extra months). So I'm making $3,600/year on a little bit of my property that I don't use and can't see (I have 18 acres here in suburbia in the City of Santa Clarita, 35 miles up the I-5 from downtown LA). And besides making money, the best part is I get to contribute to urban blight. I mean does it really get any better than that?

Not bad...but 2 miles from me a neighbor has a primo hill top spot that is dead center of a cell phone blind spot. He now makes $10K a month in rent from the cell phone service provider.

Won't happen, I own 18 acres here in sunny SoCal with about 1,100 foot of freeway frontage, but there is a big hill between the freeway and my house so I don't see or hear the freeway noise.
