get used to Euro's !

http://www.nieuwsblad.be/Article/Detail.aspx?articleid=DMF04032008_040

Belgian news article, reports that more and more shopkeepers in NYC are accepting Euro's as valid currency for cash payment, how visiters of the Taj Mahal in india no longer can pay with dollars, and how Jay-Z now waves Euro bills around in his video clips, instead of dollars...

y'all ready for this?

Yep, and coming from a world power like Belgium. Lets see, they make good chocolate, and ..... chocolate.

I just spend almost 4 months traveling all around Europe, Russia, Asia and so on. Funny thing is that NOT ONE of them refused to take $$$ when I offered them. What was I doing wrong?

Yes and no. Personally I prefer the Budvar Budweiser from the Czech Republic but there are some good beers from Belgium. Sorry to forget this!

Budvar is hands down the world's greatest beer. It's called Czechvar in the U.S. and is kind of hard to find. It's the first beer I have as soon as I get to Germany.

Since many European countries now use Euro, their old currency names are available. Maybe you could take over the Spanish former currency name?

American pesetas!

How does that strike you?

BTW, me and Stijn are planning on buying New York and turn it into a giant amusement park for poor Americans.

It´s the buyers market I suppose. I´ll take Hawaii and perhaps California to go with that. If I also can have Oregon (I like trees) I will buy you Florida as a private retirement estate present.

Worked with a Czech waiter who gave me one of those, made me understand what he was talking about when he said Budweiser was the best beer in the world. I initially thought he was crazy when he said that.

but it's just pilsner? i'm sure it's good lager, but best beer in the world?

ratebeer.com says otherwise
no pilsner in that list
it's like comparing 2 bucks a bottle vino with some kind of upscale really expensive limited availability special cuvee

1 Three Floyds Oak Aged Dark Lord Russian Imperial Stout Imperial Stout Three Floyds Brewing Company Indiana USA

2 Westvleteren Abt 12 Abt/Quadrupel Westvleteren Abdij St. Sixtus - Belgium

8 Stone Bourbon Barrel Russian Imperial Stout Imperial Stout Stone Brewing Co. California USA

9 Bells Bourbon Barrel Double Cream/Expedition Stout Imperial Stout Bells Brewery Michigan USA

0 Struise Aardnon - Earthnun Belgian Strong Ale Struise - Belgium

considering Belgium is so small, and as such has less voters that can influence the vote just by volume and subjective voting..
i say we did pretty good 3 beers in the top 10 worldwide
6 in the top 20
15 in the top 100

the top brewer world wide... Struise , is just 10 miles from my home
Westvleteren only a couple of miles further...

the general feeling in my town is , that we don't mind West Vleteren going down a place in the list, because the waiting lines to be able to buy abt 12 were getting to long... because of all the hoopla it was getting , and the monks weren't producing more despite of it... i Guess the difficulty to even get Abt 12 doesn't help getting votes.. seriously , it's even difficult for us near the brewery to get our hands on it... you gotta call a special number, on a specific day and time, then hope the line isn't too busy, give your details, and then if you're lucky , you'll get a call back with a time and date when you can go pick up one crate...

Sorry guys, I read somewhere that the Saudis already own a significant portion of America. So long as you're buying their oil, they'll always be ahead of you.
