the blonde bimbo analogy i mentioned earlier

It's not the product. It's a lot like those bumper stickers that say:

Dear Jesus, please save me from your followers."

Is there a point in any of this?

If you don't get it I probably can't explain it to you.

Nice toys, however too many sentences end with "you can do that, but...."

Does it help that many Mac users are on the upper 94% (and higher) of the income making bracket.

"6%"

It should reboot (or you should reboot it) after OS and/or software updates. So if it isn't rebooting unless there's a power failure:

1) Your computer may not be up to date.
2) You might also want to find a new source of power.

:D

Yep, we have a a G5 tower and a Macbook Pro. Many many times there are "issues" with what would otherwise be the simplest of tasks. After some research you almost always find it was a simple setting or something but what solace does that give me?

The machines are without question top shelf in build quality and design, no doubt about it. I just find them as useful as a football bat.

Oh, give it (your explanation) a shot. But whatever you say, remember: it's the Republicans' fault. :p

go into your average house, not rich people, just run of the mill factory workers, office workers

you might see a bit more mac's, but still not much

what's their market share now?? 6%??

woop ti doo , that's definitely impressive , landslide victory !

Well, you defined your winner -> What most people use.

Let's apply that to other markets; what happens?

Best,

That explanation is about as useful as a "football bat."

Why do some people hate Apple/Mac?

We don’t.

We DO hate the insulting commercials. We DO hate the snotty, superior attitude of the average Mac user.

It’s just a f*cking tool. It’s not a religion – or not supposed to be.

OK, my wife took her new MacBook in to work and it wouldn't connect to their server. The tech guy there had nothing, then she called support....nothing. Then they paid a rep to come in and he charged them a few hundred to make some changes to the network so she could connect.

An otherwise simple task...

I don't like the whole non-conformist attitude exhibited by many who go the mac route.... I feel the same way about the young'uns with all the piercings and tattoos. Same goes for the hippies of the 60's. Call me old fashioned I guess.

lendaddy 03-06-2008 11:38 AM

Another.

I hooked up a wireless WiFi router at my in laws for them. I brought my laptop and set it up, all was good. I double checked by connecting via my Smartphone, again all is good.

My wife shows up with her MacBook....no connecto el senorita. She says it usually connects automatically but for some reason it sees this network but won't connect.

This is still unresolved.

An otherwise simple task....

last reboot was a few months ago...
windows up to date... i tend to not use MS software, just the cleaned out OS
combined with alternatives that work without daily hotfixes, have external firewall, external smtp AV, i don't go on russian websites, and my realtime AV IS up to date...i work with computers for a living, trust me , my pc is safe enough without automatic updates

your point being?

the world would keep working if you take all mac's and crush em
but i guarantee you it would be serious impact if you took all pc's off the market tomorrow...

superior technology is nothing if doesn't mean the superiority grabs the superior market share

Betamax anyone?

sure Apple is doing well as a company
but let's face it , without the iPods and other lifestyle gadget's, without MS paying good money to Apple for various reasons
it would have been a different story

Yes, you are.

You can make that same statement for diamonds & s&m torture equipment. A sign of intelligence? Maybe not.
