I have gone over to the dark side....
Well, finally got rid of the 911.... I gave her to a good friend of mine that collects Corvettes (Never seen him wear gold chains and his wife has black hair). Got myself a 83 928 Euro/Auto... feels like I am working on the space shuttle now!!! has about as many circuits and wires anyway. I swear the fuse/relay panel is 1 1/2 X 2 ft LOL.... I have just helped my friend get online and I hope that he will be joining our board soon. He is a great guy and a fine mechanic.... He will be an asset to our community and I hope he gets on board pretty soon. I will be needing parts for the 928 if any of you guys have any laying around.... It is pretty dead over at the 928 side so figured I would hit yall up..... Chow for now!!!

At least it's not a BMW. You're keeping it the family.

Congrats! Sharks are great cars when you get all the electrics and vacuum stuff sorted out. They can make enormous power and are very, very refined feeling. Good choice!

Well MRM unfortunately a BMW is in my near future, I have owned 6 in the past, but my 14yr old daught is convinced that she wants a 3 series as her first car.... My 9 yr old daughter has more sense she wants a red 944/auto

Thanks POP, She has alot of electrical gremlins right now, but I am amazed actually at how fast I am sorting them out. The car has fairly low mileage 107,000. and is fairly complete minus the spare tire and front spoiler.... Troubleshooting the power windows and sunroof were easier than I thought. Checked the fuses etc... and then opened the switches up and and found they had no guts... priceless... LOL..... I had passed on this car about six years ago and she had been sitting parked and covered in a carport never moved since then. The motor runs smooth as silk, but I am getting ready to change all the hoses/ belts/ fuel line and timing belt on her.... New tires will be a must think Yoko's, Falken's or maybe Dunlops.....

Nice car there Mule... I can't remember the color of mine cinna-something red, but looks golden in color.. Black interior....Has S trim which personally I prefer over the S4 look...(No offense to your car intended) Mine still has the original flat disks on her.... The only changes I will make to her is to paint her Black..... Not very exciting I know, but ever since I saw Weird Science in high school, I wanted that car, and now I am going to have it...... I like the idea of having a sunroof in the car, but from what I am told it drops the ceiling down about 2" my hair is touching the roof while I am sitting comfortably in the drivers seat. I am 6' so when I am wearing a hat I will have to have the sunroof open and it will be poking out the top of the car LOL!!!!

Hey Mule. Very nice car and it looks like you keep it in great shape!
Makes we want to re-live the risky business dream....

Other than parts prices, 928 is one hell of a machine.

Hi Hugh, yeah I agree some of the parts are really out there.... Hopefully though I will not have to dump too much cash into her at first... hopefully just switches, relays and basic maintenance..... I am still trying to figure out why some of the parts like fuel lines etc have $100. price tags.... I mean is it some kind of special rubber or something???

Future - If you don't know Roger, you should. He is in Nord Tejas. I wish I could remember his last name. I think he has 7 or 8 928s. Great guy. He is tight with Ed Hughes who you should also get to know. Ed had a very nice 928. PM Ed Hughes.
I love those cars - someday, someday.

Now in 993 land ...

Your mechanic friend should own the 928 and you the 911, not vice versa!
I remember - 300 hp - when the 928 was pretty new. I was impressed. But don't ask how old I was. ![]() I'd own one - but parts prices compared to what you'd ever sell it for scare me. George |

Get your fuel lines made up at a local hose shop such as hose headquarters, greenline etc. it will be more like $5.00 for that $100 hose if they can reuse your ends.
