Chaos

Chaos, Chaos it is the only thing that makes any sense. The world is unraveling and chaos is beginning to prevail. The price of Rice has trebled this year to $1000 a ton, with food riots in Haiti and in Africa. Even Walmarts, Sams Club and Costco have limited the amount of Rice that one can purchase on each visit.

Americans are going to the stores less often but buying more items to save on gasoline. That is from the CEO of Procter and Gamble...the soap and deodrant people.

What is going to happen when the Middle Class Ranch House in the suburbs is foreclosed upon. There isn't enough money to fill the tank of the SUV so it has to sit in the drivway and the electric power is shut off because they can't pay a soaring electric bill. THEN WHAT IS GOING TO HAPPEN...Do you think we will still be paying attention to the likes of Hillary and Obama go at each other, to see who gets to be the best at implementing change.

No you will want your life and back and put anybody in office who can deliver on that promise. That will be one short step from tossing the Constitution in the waste basket of history.

Really? I hadn't noticed. My only debt is my mortgage which I expect to pay off in about 8 years. I have money in the bank, I'm not spending beyond my means, I have just about everything I need, and almost everything I want. I have a wonderful wife and kids, and the cost of driving to work and back has, in the last two years, gone up a lot less than the price of one Starbucks Grande per day. For those who have lived within their means, not bought houses with stupid stated income and adjustable mortgages, life seems just fine.

"Chaos".. sounds like the "hippest, happeningest" new restaurant in Vegas. A fusion of Argentinian BBQ, Peruvian vegan and a Mayan "Blow your Mind" Champuraddo Bar with 24 diffferent types of Mezcal

Now, if we only had the the seed money, we'd be 1/2 way there. Whadda ya say Tabby, a few spoons worth? You could pick the location.

Starting?

Chaos is the natural order of things.

That big ranch house should get foreclosed on. It's too big. Did you read that paper before you signed it?

That SUV should sit empty. It's a ******* pig. WHO needs to drive 18 miles away to go to COSTCO anyway?

The electric bill is so high because DUDE it's hard to power 5 MacBooks and 3 60" plasmas and heat the pool all at the same time.

Maybe American culture is due for a corrective period much like it's economy. Call it CHAOS if you want.

I'm NOT shutting down my espresso machine. Even if the lights dim a little when I crank it up.

Turn off the T.V. sets (IE: news/talking heads) and get on with your lives.

This too shall pass.

Turning the world's food into fuel is coming back to bite us - and the poor of the world even more. It was proven to be wasteful before it ever started, but we never let common sense get in the way of a feel-good idea.

By old you mean since the end of WW2 rules. If you watch the different markets you will see that those old rules are becoming frayed and like pushing on a string they will only work to a point. We are beginning to reach the point of diminishing returns on the application of those tried and true corrective measures that seemed to work for the last 63 years.

There isn't a single soul on this Board that will not be affected by this. No one here has enough money to weather this kind of storm. This is tectonic plate upheaval.
