This is exactly what I wanted to do & this Flickr program is way easier to use than my ancient real estate hosting webpage; so thanks to everyone for contributing! Have a look and let me know what you think? Cheers! Exterior Slide Show Presentation: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mr_shuswap/sets/72157604873878977/show Interior Main Floor: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mr_shuswap/sets/72157604874544015/show Interior Lower Floor: http://www.flickr.com/photos/mr_shuswap/sets/72157604874915595/show I will use these links to imbed into my feature webpage for the property; this times about 150 properties! This is gonna save me some time. Thanks again! |

Seems to be working fine. I know of another guy that uses flicker to display his product line.
Good luck. Paul |

Rob, I wish we could have bought our lakehouse from you last year. The realtors in Wisconsin had an average of 3 pictures per house so we only had a very rough idea of what to expect when we actually got to the properties. We probably visited 10-15 houses and on half of them we knew we didn't like the house just by driving up to it. Someone like you would have cut the actual site visits in half at least. You can really get the true idea of of what the property is like from your listing with all the pictures and additional information.
Nice work. I'd be happy to pay your commission.

One option for you instead of using OE to resize your photos is to use Irfanview and set up a default batch file conversion (really easy), it will take a folder of files, resize/resample them in a consistent way, rename them in a consistent way, and copy them to a new folder. You could also have it make thumbnails in the right size as well.

Not sure if anyone is bothering with this thread anymore?
and I know sometimes to save time, you have to invest time, but...!!!! I installed this "IrfanView" software; oh yippee. Now the program has taken over my entire computer, changed every single photo file in every folder and there is thousands upon thousands.... don't worry I'm backed up on a separate hard drive, but jeesh. so I play with the thing, I've been on over a dozen tutorials that were written at the grade 3 level. I can see some REAL advantages to having this as my photo browser; but the main reason I installed it was to save me a few minutes from emailing photos to myself to downsize them for uploading to websites. I still can't figure out how to take a batch of photos and swing them into another folder resized? I found where I can move them, rename them, create thumbnails of various magnitudes, etc. But what I'm looking for is to do a simple resizing, then I can load them onto my website. Google is your friend, but I'm about had it with this? Approaching midnight, anyone out there with any experience with this software? Cheers and Thanks! |

O.K.
Bingo! This did it. LINK: http://www.indeavors.com/resources/ivtutorial/iv31.htm I was one click away..... "Advanced" conversion box needed to be selected. Anyway, Don is right, this is way cool. I'm enjoying the learning curve.... I'm already wondering what I'm gonna do with the time that I'm gonna save? Cheers, Rob to Rob, ha, ha. |
