Softdesk users .dwg to .pdf converter or printer
I am using Autodesk Land Desktop 2004. We are converting our drawings to PDF's now for clients to print out.
On some occasions those drawing are 24x36 and the "printer" (converter) we are using does not go that big. I am willing to purchase some software to accomplish this and I am sure some of you civil engineers and architects are using something like tis.

Make a custom page setup/size for the printer driver.

What PDF utility are you using now? I've created some pretty large ones with CutePDF (free download), or if you have a *nix box running samba you can create a fake printer that is defined as a plotter or other wide/large format and send the print stream to a ps file and then convert to pdf...

adobe pdf
You choose it like you would a printer, select what you want printed and print to a file. It converts to a pdf in the process.

I use Autocad and do not really know anything about "land desktop", but in regular Autocad, one can simply plot to fit. Is there a scaling feature in land desktop? Maybe you can simply save a copy of a scaled down version of the drawing for converting to PDF.

Adobe Acrobat. The only thing you need.

AutoCAD allows you to save as a .pdf. Also, there's this free software:
http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/index?id=6703438&siteID=123112 View and convert .dwg and .dwf files.

AutoCAD and Adobe Acrobat - two of the worst programs ever... what could go wrong?!
(It's what we use in my office, naturally)

XnView is a great app that converts hundreds of graphic file formats...I used it when I had to convert .cal files into pdf. It's free too.
