Let's try this again:
Algore makes it up, 31,000 scientists disagree & you guys want to give the benefit of the doubt to Algore? Just when you think you've seen it all!

Typical. Come up with a theory to get after my wallet in the name of save the planet, and then make me disprove it.

Sounds lazy to me.

Regardless of where you stand on the whole manbearpig/algore thing, our friend Mule just can't seem to to come up with reputable sources/links for his position. I'm not saying his position is wrong, just that he would be better off not getting his news from the internet version of Star or National Enquirer. Mule, you stubborn, boy!

2. The originator of the petition is one Fred Seitz - a well known charlatan.

According to whom? If you have all this inside info, why not share some?

Here's what the Times said about him in his obituary:

Quote

Seitz argued that predictions of harmful climatic effects due to future increases in greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, were wrong “and do not conform to current experimental knowledge”. He believed that increased carbon dioxide was beneficial, increasing plant growth rates. The US National Academy of Sciences, of which Seitz had been a former president, took the very rare step of rejecting his position on global warming.

Most climatologists disagreed with him at the time. Even more do so now.

Unquote

Seitz's main qualifications were that he was a long time consultant to R.J.Reynolds Tobacco and NATO. and a Board member of the American Society of Mining, Mettalurgy and Petroleum Engineers.

3. And the petition? It's taken 15 years to collect these signatures through massive direct mailing efforts targeted at small Christian colleges in the southern US. Only 9,000 of the respondents have PhD's - and most of these are in engineering (read petroleum engineering). Most of the respondents have a Bachelors of Science degree - nothing more, and again the single largest group of these are in engineering.

This is the kind of junk I've come to expect from this poster.

Yup, Al Gore is on the run.
I know you still have a burr up your ass 'cause I pointed out that only a left wing whack job would use a pic of a mass murdering commie for his avatar, but back to the issue at hand. More from WND. This puts your left wing character attack in perspective.

As WND has reported, more than 31,000 scientists across the U.S. – including more than 9,000 Ph.D.s in fields such as atmospheric science, climatology, Earth science, environment and dozens of other specialties – have signed a petition rejecting "global warming," the assumption that the human production of greenhouse gases is damaging Earth's climate.

"There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gases is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disruption of the Earth's climate," the petition states. "Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth."

The Petition Project actually was launched nearly 10 years ago, when the first few thousand signatures were assembled. Then, between 1999 and 2007, the list of signatures grew gradually without any special effort or campaign.

But now, a new effort has been conducted because of an "escalation of the claims of 'consensus,' release of the movie 'An Inconvenient Truth' by Mr. Al Gore, and related events," according to officials with the project.

"Mr. Gore's movie, asserting a 'consensus' and 'settled science' in agreement about human-caused global warming, conveyed the claims about human-caused global warming to ordinary movie goers and to public school children, to whom the film was widely distributed. Unfortunately, Mr. Gore's movie contains many very serious incorrect claims which no informed, honest scientist could endorse," said project spokesman and founder Art Robinson.

PS In your smarmy post this morning, as you were pointing out yet again, your utter disdain for America, you claimed to be German. Lets clear that up. Did you mean German citizen or German-American.

Mule: I will not debate this with you because it is too preposterous. And I don't have as much time as you apparently do.

But please do your own research on Fred Seitz and his petition project. The guy was a well known nut-bar. And the "scientists" were actually students at small Christian universities endlessly bombarded with letters urging them to sign this petition. Hazard a guess who paid for the postage on a 15 year mailing campaign to assemble these signatures?

Not that this matters, but I am not German-American. I hold German and Canadian passports and divide my time between Europe, Canada and Asia, because that is where my work is. But I am in your fine country frequently, and have no disdain (as you allege) for it. The contrary is true. But I do have every disdain for your current administration and it's policies - but that is a distinction that is clearly too subtle for your simple mind, just as you fail to understand that the videos you posted in support of your "pride in America" are actually critical satirical pieces.

But I'm through debating with you. This or any other subject. It's just too pathetic, and life is too short.

Just like you were through debating when I pointed you out for the Che Guevara avatar? I think I understand.

By who? I know you lefties live on baseless claims but not me. He made several baseless claims & then said he was "too busy" to back them up. Lame. If you'd like to pick up the torch feel free. One leftie is as good as the next!

The really funny part is that you still, STILL, don't realize what an ass you've made of yourself.

Suck it up, the garbage you posted has 0 intellectual merit or validity. The least you could do is try to disown it or maybe even issue an "I was wrong" statement. Here, try this:

Dear PPOT,

I apologize for bringing the weak-sauce to party. In the future I'll try to do a little research before making an ass of myself. That is all.

Sincerly,

Mule.

Dubya has this same charming quality. He think he's right about everything, and he thinks everyone knows that. Perhaps after he is sent home to Texas, he'll pick up a newspaper and ask someone to read it to him.

I guess Lotus disagrees with the 31,000 scientists...

...and in Scandinavia, one can get their fuel tax free if they also disagree with those 31,000...

As long as they don't mind driving up food prices and starving the poor.

Bio-fuel is a scam.

Like wow dude! Actually I think only the lunatic left thinks anything other than that your hero Dottore made a bunch of claims without proving a thing. I understand that as a leftie, the difference between facts and claims is lost on you. It's OK. I don't expect any more of the lunatic left. Just keep chanting Obama, Obama & you'll feel better, untill about November.

Dear PPOT,

I apologize for bringing the weak-sauce to party. In the future I'll try to do a little research before making an ass of myself. That is all.

Here is the real apology.

Dear PPOT Left wing lunatics,

I realize that for some time now I have confused & befuddled you by the use of facts. I realize now that facts are totally foreign to you and that in your world, all that really matters is claims and feelings. For you, facts only serve to confuse your reliance on feelings & claims and are therefore disregarded as inferior to claims and feelings. In the future I will try to place warnings in all posts where facts are used to make a point, in hopes of preventing the overtaxing of your meager brains. With this new approach there should be fewer confused PPOT lefties pounding on their keyboards, staring blankly at their screens while drooling on the keyboards or making psychotic, threatening posts & pms. Remember. the most important thing is that we all get a bong.

Sincerely,
Mule

That's a fairly ignorant statement. My diesel can run on bio fuel, free of cost if I get in good with a local restaurant. I fail to see the scam there.

Now, if you're referring to ethanol as a scam, the only scam is the amount of ethanol the government expects U.S. automobiles to use between 2016 and 2036. I look at it as rather overly-eager expectations more than a "scam."
