Cool! You must be a super hyper-hypermiler. Was it downhill both ways?
2005
"Mercedes, said that in a 3,210 mile/5,200 km sea-to-shining-sea test across America from New York to San Francisco, the 3.2 litre 224 bhp V6 diesel returned 31.04 miles per gallon."

2007
"Under its new testing, the EPA gives the ML320 19 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway. Our overall observed mileage comported with those numbers, coming in at 21.6 mpg."

2008
"EPA mileage is 18/24, and if I believe the trip computer, I got around 20 in town and over 24 at a steady 70 or so on the open road."

They should keep theirs in better tune. Like mine.

I believe he was referring to corn anyways. The scam is that you burn more fossil fuel per gallon with corn than you do a petroleum product.
You are correct sir, on both counts.

You don't read the news much do you? The ethanol requirements in the US (and elsewhere) are driving food prices through the roof. Ethanol is a scam.

Ethanol is an economic loser.

So exactly what are you tuning on this diesel to nearly double the EPA estimate? You should tell Mercedes!

It's always an option. Part of life is having "options." While you're sucking gas from a hose out of your wife's car to run your 911 (you do suck, don't you?), I'll do fine with anything from McDonald's to Ruth's Chris. The type of car, Mercedes not withstanding, is inconsequential to me as long as it runs.

Options: you should think that over in your staid little world, little man.

Since when do you even care about the world, Snipper? Like I said, allotments and expectations are forcing the so-called food crisis. Adjust those and all will be fine.

Current gasoline and diesel costs are also forcing a food crisis.

Don't think out of the box much, do you? Ignorance is yours, Snipper. You wear it like charm.

I have. I've even questioned the trip computer. The one thing I did find out is ours is an in-between model that came out before Bluetec was in place with the catalytic-like converters (or whatever they are - Urea systems, I think they're called) on the exhaust system. Not having them accounts for better mileage and more power. The dealership says our mileage is entirely possible. Mercedes just says, "Yah!"

With diesel costing 25% more than gas, I can see why you're so touchy on the topic.

Anyway, have fun sucking from Ronald McDonald to Ruth's Chris .. . Yes, you are the one sucking. And if you want to say your sucking for free, that's your business.
