Need help selecting a physician. Know of any websites that give reviews?

My doctor's office is so poorly run that they won't even answer their phones. The waiting room is always littered and the wait to see him has been as long as an hour. I've got to change doctors but am afraid I might end up in a similar situation.

Do you know of a free website that rates physicians and their offices?

There is one better way to do this. Ask your friends who they use, if they like them and go from there.

Thats how I found my GP and he is excellent. It was all word of mouth.

Thing is, I don't necessarily want to see my neighbors and friends at the doctor's office. And, my realtives go to Kaiser. I hate Kaiser.

Word of mouth. Friends and co-workers are your best and most honest source.

Almost all doctors go to the hospital. The hospital staff knows who is good and who is not. I'd try to find someone on staff, particularly on a floor where your kind of doctor might visit. I've heard unbelievable stories about doctors from nurses. Some are vindicative, of course. But, wehe they decline to speak or just slightly use their eyes, run.

I'd wait an hour for any good doctor. Take a book.

This one is pretty good. It was good to see my Doc rated a 4.8 out of 6.

I asked the people I worked with that were friends. Agree and the last thing I want to see is my next door neighbor there, or some nut case at work, so I did not ask these people. Only the ones I liked and trusted.

Having had one very good friend with prostate cancer, I can tell you that the option is not a good one. Better to get it checked on a regular basis than loose your life or control of your johnson!

I'm not arguing the procedure, just the "fantasy" part. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Are you using insurance? Most medical insurance companies have a website where they will list available doctors in the area. Probably won't get reviews but it at least gives you some idea of your options.

This method is only effective for surgeons nowadays. Primary care docs don't go to hospitals much anymore.

Ask around, only way to really do it.
