Reviving this thread -

Talked to a good friend in the SF Bay Area today. His avg monthly is less than 350kwH. He has three kids, all the modern appliances, etc. Wow - I use more than 2X his consumption. I am humbled. Ordering a KillAWAtt meter today.

Under 500/month averaged throughout the year. Average 5 people in the house. 4br/2bath. Chest freezer, large fridge but we like it warm in the summer and have an attic fan to quickly drop it down to evening temps. No clothes dryer (line / rack drying). All fluorescent lights.

S. TX in epic heatwave/drought.
2800 sq. ft, 5 ton AC, all electric house, water well and company most of the month with lots of clothes washed/dried.. and watering yard occasionally to try and keep it from completely dying.

This is the largest amount used in 5 years

1700sqft, usually between 500 and 650 kwh.

We don't have AC and have a gas furnace, water heater and dryer.

Pool and pumps, 2 A/C units, big house, and it's friggen hot in Houston. And for the past 3 years, we have someone in the house all day long, so there is no chance to let it warm up during the day, to save kWhs. I can't complain, though. There are houses in my neighborhood where the summer electric bill is $800-$1000/mth.

Last month was 297.5 KWH covering about 1300sq. ft.

Looking at the dates, the above was for the month of June, not July.
