Quality Sound Card

I am looking to digitize some vinyl records and store them onto my computer. What is a "reasonably" priced sound card (or accessory box) that will do this?

Also, will I need anything else (other than a player and good pre-amp)?

re: the sound quality level -- I am not going to use the "mp3" format - instead I expect to use Apple Lossless (which is what I've used for putting some of my CDs on the computer). The computer is a dell 8300 (XP) - obviously not the newest out there, but I assume it is plenty fast enough.

I have tested some .wmf files with a small amt. of compression A/B on my system (using a Cal Audio CD Player) and could NOT hear a difference in sound quality, so I figure I should be quite safe with Apple Lossless for a storage format.

The rest of the system is a Sonic Frontiers tube pre-amp, a Sunfire amp, and Maggie speakers, so I'd like to make sure the box or sound card is commensurate with that. In other words, I always try to stop just a tad short of the [B]leeding edge...

Thanks for your help!

The Creative Audigy series with the breakout box (front panel) work pretty darn good. Aux in jacks right up front for RCA input, headphone jacks, mic jacks, and optical in/out.
Pretty good cards, and not too expensive.
