Tabs,
That Winston quote is out of context. Winston was speaking of an attrition war. The Allies (after the US joined in) had several times the population that the Axis forces.

And Americas massive industrial capacity did allow the US to fight a two front war, but in the European theater, the US effort was dwarfed by the efforts that Russia brought to bear on the battlefield. And it was the Russians who bleed the Germans white. Not the US, and not the US supplies.

Stalin wanted any thing that would make Russia's efforts easier and bleed the Western Allies. That's why he waited so long to attack in the East.

I think Fonck because he flew for so long without a scratch and achieved so much. It was his longevity that went way beyond luck that made him unique.

Other than that it is subjective..

But you still have been careless with me...

Easy there big feller! What will it take to ease your wounded heart?

At least you did not fall into that "I bet he's not even a NRA member" debacle that ate several posters.

Even before the US joined in the Brits had more population to draw troops from....India, Africa, Aus, Canada, NZ.....

Winston Churchills comment was directly stating US industrial capacity with a huge pool of men to draw upon. WW2 was a war of attrition.

Keitel admitted in 1943, I believe to Speer that the war was lost. Keitle said, Germany loses 150,000 men a month in casualites without fighting any major battles and can only replace 75,000 of them."

No one ever said that the USSR didn't do the bleeding...20M Russians died and the country was scorched earth from the western frontier to thte Volga. .

Obviously, they have all learned well from snowedman.
Hey richard cranium!

Some of us have to work you know and there are some places in the world that I fly to that still does not have the internet.

Now, oh silly one with no balls, what was it that you needed? Oh thats right, a backbone! Sure cannot find one in France! The Columbians have to rescue the French hostages from the jungle, and on and on it goes...

Yeah, right.
And it's not my fault that you still need to work, that is your own poor planning (I know, next you'll tell me you don't have to work, you just want to).

Are you saying you are up the challenge I posed? I'll bet not. You haven't shown any indication of courage yet. Come on, put your big girl panties on and accept the challenge. You are soooooo intelligent (this last post of yours is ample proof of that)!

The best part of your entire post, is the complete stupidity in mentioning that the French could not rescue their citizen in Columbia as evidence of their cowardice (this is supposed to be your attempt at an insult, I guess).

Well, ROTFLMAO, I just have to point out to you the US could not rescue their own citizens either, the Columbians did.

You know, you should stick to things you really understand, that should keep your post count to the single digits easily.

PS. And, of course, no facts or evidence to support your position. So very typical of the loud-mouth, ignorant good 'ol boy mentality.

Challenge you posed? Sorry bucko but I posted the challenge first, and thats the one that is open, period. Any modifications and its simply your weasling out of it, tampax and all.

Regarding the rescue, it was only accomplished with the help of the US Military and their intel and satellite info. Did not see one iota of frog help there. Typical of a frog to sit there and not understand things at all then try to portray it to their benefit.

Joe

PS when referring to counting, please put your socks back on. Everyone knows that the frogs stink, especially their feet.

Intel and satellites! Wow, that is brave! You may not know this but Columbia is a American operation all the way through. So who tried for years and failed there? America! Who came up with a clever plan and delivered? Columbia! Not much in the way of kudos to the US from that. Try to do a little more research, OK? Oh, and please, how about some facts once in a while, that would make a nice change.

If you still doubt my NRA Life membership from before July 2008, you are dumber than you project yourself with these 3rd grade insults. I responded to your challenge, let's play for money. After all, you could not possibly be wrong!

Come on, quit being a girlyman and put up some cash and promise to make a public apology, or just admit you have no balls.

You seem not to be able to read or comprehend the English language. I posted the bet LONG ago and guess you could not understand it.

You will never get an apology from me period. I just doubt that you are really a NRA lifetime member, and know that you lack a backbone. Neither of which deserver nor require an apology.

Go play with the frogs, your adopted home and where you need to stay for the rest of your life.

Speaking of brave, it takes a real frog who is trying to emulate the SAS with their signature "who dares, wins" on every post. You purport to be an American, living in frogville and wanting everyone to think that you are/were a Brit commando. Talk about dream world...

Joey, joey joey.........

This is another sterling example of your complete lack of skill at forming a rational, logical stream of thought. How can you possible criticize my ability to read and comprehend when anyone reading this thread from start to finish will arrive at the foregone the conclusion: Joeska has poor reading comprehension skills. This may explain the poor skill at applied logic.

You repeat statements that are easily proven false and when called on them and requested to provide evidence you slink away and hide.

You post "insults" worthy of a third grader which come back to bite you in the ass.

You act all big and tough on the internet, yet are as spineless as snowedman when you required putting your money where your mouth is. Again you run and hide.

Let's make the wager quite clear and simple. You are so sure only a redneck, republican war loving Bush jr. syncopate like your self could possible be a NRA Life member. You profess to be convinced of that. You can gather the rest of the rightwing coven and pool your meager funds with great bravery and much courage and send it to a mutually agreed sane third party. The size of your bet is a perfect indicator as to the strength of your convictions and your lack of courage.

Then I will send a matching amount, a copy of a photo ID and my NRA Life membership certificate (which is dated) to the same sane third party. Winner takes all!

Since you are not man enough to apologize, we will just post the results here on PPOT for all to see.

Come on joey, man-up and quit doing the circle jerk. Put up or shut up.

Everybody has already witnessed the old "money talks, BS walks" from you and your ilk.

PS. Nowhere on any of my posts have I ever hinted, aluded to or stated that I was a British commando. This is a perfect example of your inability to add 2+2 and get 4; in your logically impared, emotionally roiled mind 2+2 = 27. I have not tried to fool anyone, you, on the other hand, have shown everyone what a fool you are.

Hey Joey I would not take him up on his offer. He is baiting U. If U continue down this road you are going to wind up looking like Shaun did with his infamous bet with you. I have no doubt you would pay off, that is not the point here. The point is he is betting on a sure thing.

Now why would I say a thing like that, RPKQ is quite knowledgable about guns, so it stands to reason that he would be an NRA member. Those pesky facts again.

BTW: There is an old Tabs rule in poker when in doubt fold your hand. Your instincts are usually right.
