LIMBAUGH SIGNS THROUGH 2016; $400 MILLION DEAL SHATTERS BROADCAST RECORDS

The American broadcast industry is rocked, realigned and blasted into a new orbit, yet again, by Rush Limbaugh, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

In what is being described as an unprecedented radio contract, Limbaugh will keep his syndicated show on-the-air and e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e through 2016 with CLEAR CHANNEL and PREMIERE RADIO.

Already host of the most lucrative hours since radio's inception, Limbaugh's total package is valued north of $400 million, according to media insiders.

The NEW YORK TIMES will claim this weekend that Limbaugh, marking 20 years this summer as a national host, has secured a 9-figure signing bonus for the new deal, newsroom sources tell DRUDGE.

Obama will love to raise his tax rates.

I don't listen to Rush, but I am not sure his listeners will like it when his new contract starts. Before Howard Stern left terrestrial radio, they had upped the number of commercials to 22-23 minutes per hour. How many adds are they going to have to run for Rush? I imagine that he can charge more than Stern because he isn't controversial, but either his ad rates will skyrocket or his ad minutes will increase, most likely both.

They must be banking on Obama winning. If McCain gets in, Rush's ratings will drop considerably. if Obama gets in, he could go to an 8 hour format of pure hate, which would sell big!

I've said many times who I listen to: Bill, Laura, Jay, etc. I don't think Rush is on here in Boston.
