No one here has faked their political association in order to get some?
I haven't, never needed too.

Thanks for saying what most of us feel!

I think you should have reserved judgment until you got to know her - in the Biblical sense. :D

Ditto. The one real liberal I dated for a while was black and very vocal about her politics. I didn't really care that she believed the opposite of me, just that she always wanted to argue about it, when I was just happy to drink beer, hang out and knock boots. In the end, she dumped me because her mom just couldn't accept that fact that her daughter was with a white guy. Talk about a blessing.

rusnak 07-13-2008 11:22 AM

well, then I won't ask about faking religious associations or financial status, haha

My parents were together for over 40+ years...my dad a staunch republican, and my mom a card-carrying democrat. They had a wonderful relationship, and I'm thankful that politics wasn't the dealbreaker in their relationship.

The level of douchebaggery exhibited from the "regular" (you know who you are) cast here is so astounding that it actually saddens me. It's like you're 4 or 5 ignorant frat guys high-fiving each other on every republican/democrat thread on pelican, and you are so far from "getting it" that it's almost like you're a parody of a republican, and people here tolerate it because they know that, well...you're just a dumb douchebag.

Sorry your date didn't go well bro. Perhaps the next guy will be a little more open-minded, and will have a nice breakfast conversation with her.

Wow. Yawn. What a surprise.

I don't even know what to say to you, Mule. (Do you ever post your real name, or just hide behind your moniker?) I'd feel badly about it, like picking on a retarded kid or something.

Thank-you! It's nice to be noticed. :D

Oh was that ever predictable.
Someone talks smack about an uninformed liberal and the rest of them come to her defense. Where's the rest with the name calling? Oh, there they are. Right on time.

The ratio of liberals to conservatives in Ca is around 6 to 4. Not 500 to 1.
In The bay area it is much more liberal and in Orange county where I live it is more like 4 to 6 favoring the conservatives. That ratio is in trouble though, because of the ever increasing flood of illegal aliens who reproduce like rabbits and eventually who's offspring are rounded up like cattle to vote for the latest Hispanic-named democrat. On top of that even the illegals are encouraged and helped to vote illegally by the DMC.

As far as that second post with the picture goes, that may fly in Frisco but is not representative of our state as a whole.
Besides someone from new orleans has no room whatsoever to question or comment on the morality of another city or state.

Smart? she has no concept of a political platform, she has no clue about a politician's position or stance on any important issue yet she states that she is going to vote for him, and you consider that smart? I consider it closer to a certain type of mental handicap (re: liberalism).
Before I get flamed for that I apologize. That wasn't a fair comparison. People with that type of handicap are actually doing their best and at least trying to understand.

You are a strong Obama supporter and we all know why.

At 6 to 4 ya'll shouldn't be passing all that whacked out liberal crap. I'm just saying.

We're talking about a first date here. Somewhere there's probably a hottie telling her friends: "I went out with this guy for the first time, and I REALLY wanted to do him, but all he wanted to do was talk about politics and stuff that I could not care less about, so it went absolutely nowhere fast. He was VERY smart guy!". I'll continue to remain blissfully ignorant when dating...thank you very much :)

fintstone 07-13-2008 03:07 PM

Smart move...If she was dumb/crazy enough to support Obama....God only knows how many other stupid things she has done. It is too late after you score when she tells you that she often has unprotected sex with guys she picks up at the AIDS Clinic...or that she often forgets birth control...or her husband is a professional fighter with the UFC.
