my date tonight and why there won't be a second one

So I'm having dinner with this woman ( relatively intelligent I would have assumed a nurse,, good job, home etc..).. She tells me she's voting for B-Ho
I ask why ? " well I just don't like McCain,, he's just like Bush".. So I ask a few innocent questions to see if she's actually aware of B-Ho's stance on a few things like
- not drilling for more oil
- not exploiting all the coal we have
- being against Nuke power
- raising taxes
-killing small businesses
-having a racist wife
-total flip flop/lier on 2nd amendment ( in fact she didn't even know what it was!!)

Needless to say she took the ' I haven't really paid attention much" defense but yet was offended when I refered to her as "un-informed"!!!!
If this is the typical housewife in the US we're all in trouble!!!
So I dumped her off in her driveway after two cocktails and an apetizer...

I think some conflict is good, especially if it is thoughtful and intellectual.

I don't think I could tolerate someone who agreed with everything I said or believed everything I believed in! Of course, like you said, if they disagreed with me I would want them to support it in a reasonable way.

I typically don't "lay all of my cards on the table" on the first date; gotta let the chemistry, if there is any, brew for a while.

I had a Match.com date come to an abrupt end several years ago. The woman was a lawyer (first strike) and told me at dinner she had worked at the Fairfax Co. Public Defender's Office (second strike). I was telling her some of my traffic court stories from Fairfax Co. and how I had always won. Each time pointed out what the judge, cop or prosecutor had done wrong. Finally, I said, "Are you under the impression that traffic court has anything to do with justice or the public good? It's a clearinghouse for the county's highway robbery system." With that her mood soured and as soon as I paid the check (third strike), she said, "I don't feel real good now and think we should just call it a night." Darn.

I doubt politics was that important to her, if she confuses McCain for Bush. I don't blame you for thinking she was brainless, but with some more probing you could have found out for sure, haha.

Seriously, when a woman cares about a man you'd be surprised how her views on a lot of things change to match his. I am not saying this is right, but you know, it happens a lot of times. And I confess to watching tv shows and doing a lot of other stuff that I wouldn't have done otherwise too.

It is productive to look for common things first, too bad politics was that much of a deal breaker.

He appeals to a broad array of people on a superficial level and frankly, 90% of the people out there aren't discriminating enough to evaluate on the basis of content anymore - only on the basis of "sex appeal". I hate to say it, but a blowout of McCain is a virtual inevitability at this point unless BHO is caught on camera in some kind of major indiscretion or something. . .

You can blame the Republicans for *******-up the country so bad that a socialist looks good to the vast majority of American voters right now. He's going to get elected, campaign eff-ups seem to roll off of him like water on a duck's back, and it ain't goin to be close. He'll have a mandate to do what he wants right off the bat, unlike Dumbo who actually lost the first election by any reasonable measure, plus he'll coat-tail a schit-load of Dem. congressional seats in this election. The only hope that conservatives have, ironically, is that unlike the surplus that Dumbo inherited along with a raging economy, Obama and the new Democratic congress are inheriting a country and treasury that has been looted almost beyond recognition by the "private contractor govt." of the current POS administration. Plus a cluster-fuch war or two. So the bottom line is that they won't have any $$ to spend on all of his grand plans.

Neither candidate plans on enforcing immigration law or dealing with the 10s of millions of illegals in the country, so I could really give a schit which one gets it. Obama will be great for repairing America's image in the world and our relationships w/ allies, so he gets my nod. I'm telling you, the world is going to go nuts w/ joy and optimism when he gets elected. The right-wing dead-enders here will try to spin or deny it, but remember that you heard it here first. It's going to be a world-wide celebration. Right now they think that we are a nation of retards for electing Bush, they'll think that we're alright again and the world will exhale a huge sigh of relief.

IMHO, Americans are close to their convictions, even if it means you don't get laid. That is what started this little experiment over here and it is what it will require to maintain it. I have been around a bit and neither pussy or European apathey are a priority if it means the respect or safety of my homeland. And it is not so much as nagging like women as it is standing up like men. Some things are not for kidding about.

Dump the date, there are plenty more in the sea. OR as I have come to believe, go with the golden retriever rule.
