my date tonight and why there won't be a second one
So I'm having dinner with this woman ( relatively intelligent I would have assumed a nurse,, good job, home etc..).. She tells me she's voting for B-Ho
I ask why ? " well I just don't like McCain,, he's just like Bush".. So I ask a few innocent questions to see if she's actually aware of B-Ho's stance on a few things like - not drilling for more oil - not exploiting all the coal we have - being against Nuke power - raising taxes -killing small businesses -having a racist wife -total flip flop/lier on 2nd amendment ( in fact she didn't even know what it was!!) -Rev Wright Needless to say she took the ' I haven't really paid attention much" defense but yet was offended when I refered to her as "un-informed"!!!! If this is the typical housewife in the US we're all in trouble!!! So I dumped her off in her driveway after two cocktails and an apetizer... |
was she hot and pleasant otherwise?

Really?
Is general political views so crucial for you Americans, you even ditch an otherwise pleasant, intelligent woman? You need to start living outside the political box, boys! :D Your lives will pass you by while you are nagging like women over political issues. I am just saying..;) |
Better to realize she is a brainless moronic liberal twit now, than later, after he has much stronger feelings toward her.
|
Perhaps, but from the information she seems possibly a liberal but neither brainless nor moronic or a twit. See what I mean? :)
|
Some are destined to date for the rest of their lives. You could save a lot of time by asking about politics, religion, abortion, guns, on the phone before you pick her up. Besides, Rosie Palm will always be there for you. ;)
|
If she was hot you should have hung for a while dude. Left wing chicks are usually automatic. She'd probably been ready to "love tussle" after the second drink. Besides, you're in CA. Obama voters are like monkeys at the zoo. They're everywhere.
|
I think some conflict is good, especially if it is thoughtful and intellectual.
I don't think I could tolerate someone who agreed with everything I said or believed everything I believed in! Of course, like you said, if they disagreed with me I would want them to support it in a reasonable way. I typically don't "lay all of my cards on the table" on the first date; gotta let the chemistry, if there is any, brew for a while. |
You should've nailed her good and then used the experience as an example of what BHO is gonna' do to America. Basically f*ck everyone and use 'em, then leave them to fend for themselves. Maybe that would have made an impression she'd remember.
|
I had a Match.com date come to an abrupt end several years ago. The woman was a lawyer (first strike) and told me at dinner she had worked at the Fairfax Co. Public Defender's Office (second strike). I was telling her some of my traffic court stories from Fairfax Co. and how I had always won. Each time pointed out what the judge, cop or prosecutor had done wrong. Finally, I said, "Are you under the impression that traffic court has anything to do with justice or the public good? It's a clearinghouse for the county's highway robbery system." With that her mood soured and as soon as I paid the check (third strike), she said, "I don't feel real good now and think we should just call it a night." Darn.
|
I doubt politics was that important to her, if she confuses McCain for Bush. I don't blame you for thinking she was brainless, but with some more probing you could have found out for sure, haha.
Seriously, when a woman cares about a man you'd be surprised how her views on a lot of things change to match his. I am not saying this is right, but you know, it happens a lot of times. And I confess to watching tv shows and doing a lot of other stuff that I wouldn't have done otherwise too. It is productive to look for common things first, too bad politics was that much of a deal breaker. |
This also underscores the point of why Obama is going to win in a landslide. He's young and charismatic. He appeals to a broad array of people on a superficial level and frankly, 90% of the people out there aren't discriminating enough to evaluate on the basis of content anymore - only on the basis of "sex appeal". Thank you "American Idol" for dumbing America down to this point.
I hate to say it, but a blowout of McCain is a virtual inevitability at this point unless BHO is caught on camera in some kind of major indiscretion or something. . . |
If she was an idiot who supported McBush and couldn't point-out China on a map you would have been on her like a hobo on a ham sandwich, right? Or are you telling us that you would have rejected her if she was Republican but couldn't give you one good reason why, other than the usual canned BS about taxes and national security, etc.??

"Unless Obama is caught in bed with a live boy or a dead girl, he's a shoo-in...";) You can blame the Republicans for *******-up the country so bad that a socialist looks good to the vast majority of American voters right now. He's going to get elected, campaign eff-ups seem to roll off of him like water on a duck's back, and it ain't goin to be close. He'll have a mandate to do what he wants right off the bat, unlike Dumbo who actually lost the first election by any reasonable measure, plus he'll coat-tail a schit-load of Dem. congressional seats in this election. The only hope that conservatives have, ironically, is that unlike the surplus that Dumbo inherited along with a raging economy, Obama and the new Democratic congress are inheriting a country and treasury that has been looted almost beyond recognition by the "private contractor govt." of the current POS administration. Plus a cluster-fuch war or two. So the bottom line is that they won't have any $$ to spend on all of his grand plans. Neither candidate plans on enforcing immigration law or dealing with the 10s of millions of illegals in the country, so I could really give a schit which one gets it. Obama will be great for repairing America's image in the world and our relationships w/ allies, so he gets my nod. I'm telling you, the world is going to go nuts w/ joy and optimism when he gets elected. The right-wing dead-enders here will try to spin or deny it, but remember that you heard it here first. It's going to be a world-wide celebration. Right now they think that we are a nation of retards for electing Bush, they'll think that we're alright again and the world will exhale a huge sigh of relief. |

IMHO, Americans are close to their convictions, even if it means you don't get laid. That is what started this little experiment over here and it is what it will require to maintain it. I have been around a bit and neither pussy or European apathey are a priority if it means the respect or safety of my homeland. And it is not so much as nagging like women as it is standing up like men. Some things are not for kidding about. Dump the date, there are plenty more in the sea. OR as I have come to believe, go with the golden retriever rule. |

Please wake up! Just out on the morning news that McCain has caught up with Hussain and they are neck and neck on the polls. Dead even when just a few days ago Hussain was 10 points ahead. He is young and FOS and eventually enough people will realize this and vote for the only other choice. The only possible change in this is when they both choose their VP running mates and this may skew things a bit. You are almost correct. A McCain blowout is in order if we can get people to wake up that Hussain is an empty shirt blowing in the wind... |
Livi - I hope and assume that you've seen enough other aspects of the U.S. to know that this board is not representative of the nation. I've traveled the country extensively and, fortunately, have yet to encounter a place as whacked out as this...

Dude, good for you man. I for one am proud of you +1

Rookie mistake - you nail her then talk politics

Joe, I don't know what polls you're looking at, but every one I see (with the exception of Rasmussen, below) shows Obama sitting on a pretty comfortable lead - even in a lot of the historically "red" states. . .
http://www.usaelectionpolls.com/ http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/national.html http://www.gallup.com/poll/election2008.aspx http://www.presidentelectionpolls.com/ http://www.surveyusa.com/client/PollReport.aspx?g=ee159c77-e4e4-4b5e-b5aa-5ae114813bc8 http://www.pollingreport.com/wh08.htm http://electoral-vote.com/ The ONLY reference I've seen to a tie in the polling is on the Rasmussen Reports (link below). Although this is encouraging, even they themselves seem skeptical of it, putting the following disclaimer on their web site: "It will take a few more days to determine whether this recent tightening of the race reflects real change or is merely statistical noise." Here's their daily poll tracker: http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/general_election_match_up_history http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/daily_presidential_tracking_poll I do pay attention to this stuff - all the evidence suggests right now that McCain has a significant amount of work to do if he wants to have any kind of shot. The good thing is there's a lot of time left, but I guess I just don't have as much confidence in the collective brainpower of the average American idiot these days as you seem to. I hope things turn around for McCain - I really do. If BHO gets in office, I think it'll only accelerate (dramatically) the slide towards the inevitable collapse of this country. The economy will grind to a halt on the back of his tax-and-spend policies and the government will only continue to run up staggering debts to fund "redistribution of wealth" policies. This is one election that we can't afford to lose to a socialist, or I really do think we ARE f*cked. However, the average dope out there just sees his smiling mug on the television and falls in love. Kennedy versus Nixon. . . Don't underestimate the power of a young charismatic face. |

Wise move...Cindy's family is left wing. She never felt like she belonged to them, being a logical lady. She votes right...as far right as she can. :D

BHO shouldn't even be mentioned on the same page w/ Gov Ed. Edwin was a Democrat's Democrat. He told you he was going to steal before he did it. Ed had Playboy bunnies weekending at the governors mansion. Not one, several, so his boys (contributors) could have some company. When confronted about illegal dealings, he never backed up a step. Comparing Ed to BHO is like comparing Al Capone to a corner crack dealer. |
Funny you should post this. I'm on the dating scene right now and it does seem that political views are becoming increasingly more imprtant in couples.
Livi- you'll have to understand that this is important to Americans- at least thinking Americans, and there are still some of us left. I feel the original posters frustration as typically an Obama supporter is clueless, and merely choosing the "brand" that is better marketed, not making a selection based on merit or any intelligent thought process. I see it all the time, and it's exactly as the OP states it. It's a date killer for me too. Let me draw a comparison: Obama voters are to the voting process what clueless yuppies are to modern Porsche sales. You guys all love to make fun of the Porsche guy who doesn't even know which end the engine is, he just bought one because he has some money and thought he was supposed to. That's the Obama supporter. They are responding to the media support of Obama's brand, and in light of the vacuum of marketing support for McCain, it seems like a natural choice. If someone is a brainless drone- It's a bit of a turn-off. It all depends on the situation of couse whether someone should still pursue some cratch-slapping. |

Unfortunately that is exactly the mentality (or lack of) that obama appeals to. He doesn't have to say anything or do anything, he just has to give them a foolish warm and fuzzy feeling which he does. That is a very dangerous thing. |
Quote:
She had made up her mind based on nothing. that makes her a mush-head, weak minded, easily manipulated. It's very hard to respect someone like that (a democrat). Quote:

"b-Ho"???? i dont get it. isnt it more "b_oh"?
in general, one of you sound like a crappy date. politics and religion are no-no topics. |
Highly Likely
This may also come into play: (Calif. penal Code 261.)"The carnal knowledge of a person, forcibly and/or against the person’s will; or not forcibly or against
the person’s will where the victim is incapable of giving consent because of his/her temporary or permanent mental or physical incapacity (or because of his/her youth)":D |
So an after dinner blow job was outta the question? %^B.....
Politics and religion are best discussed after 7-8 dates... |
