I have a molar that needs to be removed... Should I make an appointment?

not nuts, practical

you don't see Jack Bauer crying whenever he got dinged up a bit either, do ya...

if it doesn't bleed, and still points vaguely in the same directiojn
then it ain't all that big of a deal

if it does bleed, paper towel and duct tape
if that don't work... break out the contact cement...

if you pass out from blood loss... you wouldn't have made it to the hospital anyway, and that way did not risk other people's lives from passing out while driving... res ipsa loquitur

Step 2: wrap with some 1/2 inch Al bar stock.

The DIY attitude of this forum never ceases to amaze me. Very helpful step by step, and great pictures. I think we should recommend this thread for the Pelican Wiki.

I recently broke my little toe by stubbing it on something barefoot. It hurts, but the doctors and everyone else are right; there is nothing you can do but let it heal, so medical attention is a waste of $$. Toes are tough little buggers, I've broken them more times than I can count including the big ones.

I broke a toe years ago, I taped it to its neighbor but it still sticks up every so slightly. My latest is a broken finger, I finally got it checked out and now after the initial appointment and Xray its in a splint. In retrospect I shouldnt have waited 2 weeks to get it checked out.

i think maybe because it was a manly way to deal with the damage, and somehow you're drawn to such signals... and/or you have a toe fetish
i think you need to go out and buy a Boxster now

Way to go Shaun! I also have been known to use the "DIY" method in when dealing with injury.

A few years ago I broke my arm, re-broke a collarbone and chipped a bone in my ankle when I missed a gear on my motocross bike just prior to hitting a small double jump in the side yard and endo-ed big time. I drove myself to the hospital (no sense making my wife sit around waiting forever in the ER) and got a cast on my arm and soft cast on my leg.

I initially ended up making a crude shoe to fit over the soft cast so I would not get it dirty while working in the shop (got to have my daily dose of shop/man cave time whether injured or not), then later after removing the cast, I made myself a brace for my arm out of aircraft aluminum, padding and some velcro straps from an old pair of sandals (it was tough to make basically with one hand!)

Just need an old used X-ray machine along with a tire mount/balance combo and I will be completely self sufficient.

It was a lot better than the silly little white cloth brace they gave me to wear post cast.
