Doh, of course it's a Mirage, it says that right on the side. Maybe I should back off to my "no specifics" postings, or put away the wine.

However, I KNOW this was at the Airport in Reading, PA

At the Glen

Pretty sure this is Jo Bonnier in the CanAm McLaren

And Mr. McLaren himself

Just want to chime in that I am also enjoying your posts and pictures Vern, please keep them coming.

Reminds me of the days at Riverside, wish I had gone there more.

And now for something completely different:

Scott, that's actually a pretty old car. I think it's the 2006 model. Can't see the helmet to see who is driving though.

Funny, I noticed it didn't have the ugly dorsal fin like many of the new cars... it was just one of the few F1 cars I had on my hard drive.

Bahahahahahahaha!

A French Ferrari with seahorses on the crest? Super rare citroen only model. I head Enzo secretly had an affair with a frenchy. Maybe an heir to Citroen?

I just found this, there's a whole slew of videos from the 60's that appear to be from someone's personal stash.

No sound, but still really cool

Mark Donohue's F1 line thru the last turn at Mosport. I asked him later why he took a chance on running over the curb stones - "that's where the line was"

I'm not quitting, really. Getting ready for SCCA Solo II Nationals next week and just blew the motor today in a practice session. There will be more pictures.

Watkins Glen. Early 70's. Camped on the back straight near where the chicane is now. Mark Donahue in his 12 cylinder Porsche there and gone before you even saw second place car - first lap. Those were the days. Today everything is comparatively vanilla. COTA etc. Colin Chapman, Ken Tyrrell. Roger Penske, Bruce McLaren, Ferrari, Hall Chaparral.....and more. Those were the glory days. It's just business now.
Kevin Buckler is one of the few who actually puts his heart into the sport today. He has 5 cars at Daytona again!

McLaren was helpful with spares when Leo Wybrott was there, and Cosworth in Torrance supplied any DFV parts we needed.

Great car, good memories.

Boy, excellent thread! Had not seen it when it started but love the old cars.

I for one miss the day when drivers actually shifted the gearbox and did not have computers controlling everything.

Yeah, this thread turned out OK. No politics, no carping at each other.

Joe, go back to the first page. There's a link to a thread on Ferrari Chat. I hope it's still good.
