Shaun's jumped the shark

Well Shaun, you have risen to the top of the anti-Palin sentiment here on this board, surpassing posters who are usually much less coherent and capable of rational thought than you. Indeed, across the country, we're seeing that only the looniest of the left are attacking this candidate. Everyone else on the spectrum just takes this as corroboration of the abject terror that the Obamanation is experiencing right now. It is consolidating the base and making converts out of swing voters. This just seems to be spurs in the flanks of Obama zealots like yourself.

Indeed, your shrill is surely causing every hound dog in Cambridge to howl. Your ear-splitting onslaught on this subject lacks even the Soup-like tactical maneouvering characterizing your posts lately. It is just full-on, uncorked diatribes. When rational points are brought up, you just yell louder. Indeed, every time your credibility creeps back up a notch, you take two steps back with your Palin position or gas 'logic'.

Why are you so dogged in your attack of this woman, while blithely glossing over all the questions about Obama? As smart as you are, what has happened in your life that makes you cling to the notion that, as an entrepreneur, you're going to be better off in the Obamastration?

I invite your response. Make it quick though, before the ban fairy comes to visit you and give you your reward for your latest tirade.

Palin attended University of Idaho. So did I. Our ages are presumably not that different. So I'm wondering, recalling my time there, recounting my experiences, to see if I can remember nailing her while I was there. She does look vaguely familiar.

Yup. I used to enjoy my debates with Shaun. Though I frequently didn't agree, I felt he was intelligent and articulate with his arguments. But the closer the election gets, the more of a party shrill he has become, frequently stooping to behavior that is below sad, desperate, and disgusting. There's a reason I'm now ignoring his threads. It's really sad what politics can do to people.

You'd get a high-five for that one!

Shaun has been consistant in his liberalism...as has super.

This morn's OREGONIAN made me grumble, tho. Covering Obama's visit here earlier in the year, the rag ran a front page illustration of him. Head raised, eyes skyward, for all the world looking like the 2nd coming.

Today's editorial page, an illustration of Sarah Palin...making her look like a crone.
Along with that, an editorial blasting her.

Gotta love THE OREGONIAN. They save my doing homework on elections. I just read their endorsements. Then vote the opposite. When I bother to vote, that is.
I'm still debating whether or not to sign up for this one, thus participating in an election I believe to be rigged.

+1000

maybe if he get rid of all the oil platforms in the gulf, Palin will get caught washed away by a hurricane?
Incoherent nonsense is all I've seen from Shaun lately.

I guess when you are caught in hypocrisy and you are losing debates, go personal, yeah, that's got to work.

I love the 8:1 "Conservative" : Liberal numbers here. You guys all line up with the same talking points just to get shot down. And since I've been awarded honorary Conservative status on many many occasions, recently by Tim Hancock, and I can "out-Republican" you, you guys sound a little hollow.

Republican Family Values now include unwed teen mothers. Love it!

Way to prove everyone wrong. You just have to get your shots in, don't you?

Republicans, Democrats, whatever, all folks make mistakes. The "Family Values" part kicks in with the birth of the baby and the support of the family. I am the product of a young Mom as well, and I'm glad to be here.

Seems sort of unfair attacking a 17 year old soon-to-be Mom who made a mistake, along with the young Father.

I hope my little girl doesn't make the same mistake, but all of the good parenting and support I can provide will not guarantee she doesn't. Don't you understand this?

Good luck.

Best,

My sister was stupid and got pregnant when she was 17. Her son has grown up to graduate from college and become a radiologist. The world did not end.

Kurt, I think the family values kick in before the teens are knocking knees. Parents need to less hands off with their kids...not controlling, but more involved in open discussions about the other aspects of the joys of sex.

Yes, they do. Having the child, raising and supporting the child, loving the child are all republiucan values.

The democrat family values are to either kill the baby before it's born, or let the government support it.

Of course you wouldn't know anything about parenting, you don't have any kids. Remember?

As I stated in the other thread: "Support, not abort".

Remember, lord B-HO stated he did not wither of his daughters "punished" with a child if they ever make a mistake.

I LOVE watching the left reel, squirm and attack when they've been trumped.

We grew up in a lower middle class family. At times almost poverty level. We knew right from wrong. We got the sex talks. Unfortunately teenage hormones can overcome almost any set of values.

I know. I have the same kind of background. It requires persistence on the parents' part.

Of course Jim, but no amount of "Family Values" upbringing insulates against big mistakes. I did not mean to imply it only starts after an early pregnancy/birth.

I'm not sure about talking about "the joys of sex" with little girls, but I do understand that sex is a very natural thing that needs to be explained very early in a child's life, FWIW.

Best,

I'm still looking for the one human on earth that didn't defy their parents and make stupid decisions as a teen. Anyone?

Lemme get this straight. Mule and Byron are okay, but you're saying Shaun is out-of-bounds? Is that your position?
