Try War-steiner Dark, or Heineken October fest both very good. I personally like dark beers but won't drink Guinness. Guinness doesn't taste the same as it does in the northern part of the UK. I'm told it doesn't travel well and I believe it. Fresh brewed, it was the best I have ever tasted.
Also sampled the local Scotches too but that's for another post.

The local stuff is best...
I am not a beer nut (pun intended
![]() My all time favorite is from a local brewery here in Gippsland - the Grand Ridge Brewery. These guys have won every beer award in Australia with their range of beers. My fav is their Natural Blonde. Natural for no preservatives or additives and Blonde as in blonde Belgium ale...yummy! Classed as one for the ladies...but I find I have to hide it in the back of the fridge from the guys if I am to have any left for me to enjoy. I don't know if Grand Ridge beers are available O/S...but if you spot any of their beers anywhere you have got to try them ![]() If you interested, here's the link for the brewery http://www.grand-ridge.com.au/flash.asp It's a beautiful drive for us up to the brewery too - much more fun going up there than buying it from our local bottle shops. |

I'm pretty sure the last time I tried a Kool, I threw up, which was probably going to happen anyway but I now have that association. My favorite beer tight now is Portuguese: ![]()
