Clarification will be forthcoming, if you but follow the proper procedure: stand naked in the surf at dusk, whispering the name of the Goddess ecstatically while allowing the waves to lap at your thighs like the tongues of a thousand leopards.

Or at least, that worked for me. YMMV.

That question was posed "years" ago and I, to this very day, deeply regret the reticence that I felt at the time regarding questioning the veracity of that answer. Until now.

Is anyone familiar with this issue who could perhaps step forth and offer clarification?

This thread raises a swallow of questions:

1. Is it hotter in the city in the summer, or colder in the winter in the country?
2. Is it faster to travel by day, or by train?
3. How-long is a Chinamen.
and finally:
4. What is the difference between a duck?

As we dwell on the finer points of life's great mysteries, one must ask about the sincerity of the fish. In this context, I must raise objection.

Your time or my time?

2. Is it faster to travel by day, or by train?

I don't know (I carry my lunch).

3. How-long is a Chinamen.

And he has a very, very, very fine laundry. With two cats fed with lard.

and finally:
4. What is the difference between a duck?

Slight. Almost immmmmperceptibly slight.

Your swallow of questions are, indeed, rather hard to swallow (though I don't wish to carp, however fishy your intellectual sincerity strikes me as being).

But the blasphemous unctuosity with which you cast doubt upon the sincerity of ANY of the fishes leads me to conclude that you are anything but an ichthyologist!

And that, my good man, is apalling! My gawd! Have you EVER encountered an insincere fish?

My thread made Google!

Do I win anything?

Hey! Is this a red herring?

dude...

YTNUKLR 11-08-2008 11:08 PM

It's like, "I think, therefore I am"...the fish, engineered by nature/God/whatever you want to think, is what it is because of what it is designed to do..

I'm glad my chair has arms, or I seriously would have fallen on the floor laughing! The worst part is not that this thread has made google -- I use google to find PP threads all the time -- but that it's being quoted in that PARF as a cliche. That's just awesome. :)

Excellent answer Adrian however I think you missed the point completely... you explain the how of a fish not the why.

I believe the why of a fish is to be served raw on a little piece of rice with some wasabei.
