Typical of these and other large chains... They push this stuff down from on high... Then if an employee gets caught doing it, they 'flush' him down the drain.
You want another one? Ask any former Midas mechanic what the mantra was... The customer walks in for an inspection? Give 'em CPR. That's right, "Ma'am you need Calipers, Pads, and Rotors". Bandits every one. SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL INDEPENDANT!

Actually, it depends on what you are flushing it with. Most all flushing fluids are solvent or acid based. Pretty rough on seals as well as being a bad player for the system - you never get it all out. We invented a flushing oil that is got exceptionally high detergency and dispersentcy yet will not monkey up the system. I have spent the past 10 years amassing case studies on this stuff in all sorts of systems - engines, hydraulics, gearboxes, air compressors. Works real well at removing the junk but not in chuncks - dissolves it then disperses it.
If anyone wants the case studys, I will be glad to send you over the file.

I knew a couple of people when I was into 4wheeling that asked me "what's wrong with my transmission, it whines and is hard to shift?" ( they owned Ford Rangers) I asked them if they had it serviced recently, lo and behold they all had Jiffy skrood service their tranny's, the company had replaced the ATF with Gear oil. Two of them were awarded new transmissions.
I need a job.
