No, the SC 911's started in 1978. That car does look nice, though.

I knew the SC's started in 78 but was trying to figure out what this guy was claiming.

With the little bit of info he provided, who knows what he thinks he has. Give Mitch a call and see if he can prove the rarity.

Japanese coupe - only 130 were made in 8/75 to 7/76. The VIN would be 9116100001 - 9116100130

No, there were no `76 SC's, but the ad does mention MFI. So it's a long shot, but it could be a `76 Euro Carrera 2.7, which basically IS a `73 RS with impact bumbers (much different, and more desirable animal than the US Carrera 2.7 of the same vintage).

I think you're right. That is actually an extremely rare care. In 1976 the factory installed some leftover 2.7 liter MFI (basically Carrera RS engines) in a few 911s. There were 123 of these made. The "1 of 123" kind of gives it away. The factory did not call them "SCs" though.

There was one of these for sale in Pano for years. It seems like it hovered around $35k and would just never sell...

It could be a Carrera w/ the 911/83 MFI engine, it looks to have the correct rear flares but the tea tray rear spoiler is not correct for that car.

SC was also used as an internal engine code from '73 up
