Question for the Excel Guru's

Help!

We recently upgraded our Excel (to Office 2003, Excel).

On many of my account reconcillations, I have titles like @11/30/2008. Now that we converted to the newer version, all of these titles have become hyper-links. Even if I try to change to a different format, as soon as I click on the cell, my e-mail opens up and is addressed to @11/30/2008.

Is there a way to turn off this auto-format thing? I really don't want to change all my schedules but I will if there's no other option.

Thanks in advance.................Vern

Hmm, if I try enter @11/30/2008 in a cell, I get formula error - can't do it. I have Excel 2003 SP2

Are you able to name a new cell @12/30/2008? If not, maybe should change the name convention since will be troublesome.

You could just do a global find-and-replace to get rid of the @ symbol.

mrexcel.com - that's where I go whenever I have questions with Excel. While it's not as quick as Pelican, there's a massive wealth of info there in the forums.

Start with an apostrophe '@12/30/2008. I guess I'm still used to the old 1-2-3 ways. But even so, I've been doing it this way for years and it just recently started turning into a hyper-link.

Go to Tools -> AutoCorrect Options -> "AutoFormat As You Type" tab -> uncheck the first option
