So how big is your tree this year?

Ours went up over the weekend, cut from our property and dragged down the hill on the quad, 15' plus a few inches! Of course a custom tree stand had to be welded up!

Seriously, our Chanuka Tree is an 8 footer. Blue and white lights/ormnaments only.

Couple of acceptable spellings of it although I did forget the trailing h.

It is the Festival of Lights so why not.

The fat dude with the venison driven sleigh is a manifestation of corporate retail greed.

I like to view this time of year as the time when most people treat others the way they should all year long.

So in the spirit of that, we have our tree.

Our 6' one is still in its box in the closet - I have to dig it out one of these evenings I suppose so the cats have something new to climb on.

There no XMAS spirit for us this year, so we are not setting up a tree.

Found out last year that our (now late) cat was allergic to the Christmas tree. Interesting, as the first year we had her, we had a tree with no problems. Then, there were a couple years we didn't have a tree due to living in small apartments. Last year we finally got another tree, and she was wheezing up a lung until we put her on kitty Benadryl (or was it Atarax?). She finished the course of meds and went back to wheezing, until we finally got rid of the tree in mid-January. Symptoms resolved the next day.

So while the cat is no longer with us this season, we've opted to skip the tree in memory of her.
