I've had the glass bottles (Mexico) of Coke too but honestly it tastes very weird. Maybe it's the bad water down there or something - dunno, but it tastes kinda' gross. Not how I remember the U.S.-made Coke that came in the glass bottles years ago. Or maybe I just tried a bad batch or something, who knows?

really? shows what you know. they make many things from recycled plastic. like more plastic bottles, pile jackets. yes alluminium is easier to recycle but if they both go to a land fill they are both useless.
Mexican and Canadian Coke are much better.

Interesting... I'm a diet coke drinker, but I'll do a comparison between the Cokes this weekend and report back. I didn't know there was a difference.
I prefer cans as well.

From memory:
US - least sweet Canadian - a bit more European - a bit more again Chinese - almost syrupy Mexican ? I drink plain on occasion but usually it's with rum. ![]() And Diet Coke is totally undrinkable - even with rum. You might as well drink Pepsi. ![]() Ian

Why do they make the Mexican ones with sugar?
Someone told me that during Passover, you should look for the ones with the yellow tops. They supposedly have the sugar/old formula. Any truth to that?

Until they make a can with a screw top, ill take plastic bottles. Who can drink an entire coke at one sitting? Especially when in the car.

If I get a real coke (non diet) I go for the GLASS bottle made in Mexico. These cokes are the best, as they are still made with SUGAR, not corn syrup. Give it a try next time you visit your local taco place. Can't beat glass in terms of neutral taste either.

Doesn't make any difference to me. Can or bottle tastes the same IMO. I don't like cola anyway.

Same here. Much better than regular ol' "Diet Coke".
The stuff with the lime in it is great - but it must not have done well at market. Very few places have it anymore. The vanilla stuff (same story) I actually liked too.

At the soda fountain I will splash a bit of lemonade in first.
At home a squeeze of real lemon is better. Crushed ice in a glass. Plastic cups or bottles are to be avoided. +1 to Jack, Myer's or the Cap'n... KT

Factually, it is typically cheaper to make new plastic bottles than make it into another bottle. You can do other things with the plastic pellets, but there is no obvious incentive for businesses to recycle plastic. It has a far lower rate of recycling, in the 20-something % range of all plastic made. The rest of that plastic goes to the landfill. With aluminum, the energy savings are much more obvious, like it's 4x less energy to recycle a can than make a new can. Aluminum is recycled in the 50-something % range.
