I'm really feeling better, I'm not very nauseous if at all right now.

The back door is still swinging on it's hinges but that has to stop at some point.

Mentally/comfort-wise I feel maybe 90% where I was 4-5% 10 hours ago.

I'm halfway through a big bottle now, damn that stuff is nasty.

Buy this and drink it: http://pedialyte.com/

It's in the children's section of the drug store.

And do not take the exam. Get a doctor's note.

cgarr 01-19-2009 03:15 PM

You didn't have any of those peanut butter crackers they recalled did ya?

DanielDudley 01-19-2009 03:20 PM

Get some lemons, Garlic and cayenne pepper. Squeeze a whole lemon into a class. Smash up a couple of garlic cloves, and add about a quarter teaspoon of cayenne. Add real warm water and drink the whole thing down.

If you have a real good doctor, about a half a teaspoon of paregoric would do you wonders. It is an opiate though, so it is hard to get nowadays. It will settle your stomach right down.

Sheesh, have you gone and registered Democrat now, too?

Man it up, have a gin and tonic to settle your tummy and go take the damn test.

Oh Haha 01-19-2009 04:35 PM

Hey buddy,
Seriously, you haven't had any of the PB/Cheese crackers, have you? I found out today that an account's employee has a relative that contracted salmonella from them. THEY DID NOT BUY THEM FROM US. THEY LIVE IN THE SOUTH.

Glad to hear you're feeling a little better. I was down all weekend with something. No vomiting but I didn't want to get too far from a terlet.:p

I came down with it about noon Friday, went home at 3pm, slept pretty much until 9 am Saturday which has usually worked for me. This time I didn't feel any better until Sunday night around 9pm. Today has been normal.

There is a stomach flu type thing going around and I don't think I have talked to 1 person that hasn't had it around them in the past month or so.

Good luck on the test if you take it.

Oh, and drink Gatorade or G2 like you're doing.

Food poisoning.

Food poisoning is a common, usually mild, but sometimes deadly illness. Typical symptoms include nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramping, and diarrhea that occur suddenly (within 48 hours) after consuming a contaminated food or drink. Depending on the contaminant, fever and chills, bloody stools, dehydration, and nervous system damage may follow. These symptoms may affect one person or a group of people who ate the same thing (called an outbreak).

Was this a pot luck party?

Hydrate! +1 on the Pediacare.

Symptoms sound very close to when my Crohns Disease flares up.

You need to replenish minerals and salts.

red-beard 01-19-2009 05:10 PM

Hey Daddy. Who doesn't like you?

"back door slamming on the hinges?"""" ahhahahhahaha

periodr3 01-19-2009 07:43 PM

The cocktail that remedy is meclizine, Imodium AD and an I.V. of Naclh20. Idiot get yourself to an ER the #1 cause of death from the flu is dehydration from rapid loss of fluid out the rear entrance.

speeder 01-19-2009 07:52 PM

Really sounds a lot like food poisoning. I've had the misfortune of getting it a few times in my life and it really defines the term, "violently ill". Sitting on the toilet with a pail or wastebasket on your lap and sleeping on the bathroom floor. No reason to get back in bed. Retching until your throat is raw hamburger after your stomach is empty. I feel for you, I would not wish it on anyone.

The old joke is that the symptoms of food poisoning are that at first you are afraid that you're going to die, then you are afraid that you're not going to die. ;)

The only good news is that it normally completely passes in less than 24 hours other than the recovery and re-hydration of your body. There is no flu that I know of that would have made you that ill and passed by that quickly.

periodr3 01-19-2009 08:07 PM

Most likely you and Lendaddy had a rna or rhinovirus that is food borne and passes in time. Food poisoning is bacterial and does not go away as easily usually from an e.coli bacteria hence the P.B. scare. Don't be foolish a quick trip to the ER early can save days in the hospital or death. Unless we all went to med school let the experts who know from experience make the decisions. Would not want my landscaper to rebuild my 2.0.
