Almost certainly food poisoning.

livi 01-19-2009 10:55 PM

Sorry to hear this, Len. What a ghastly experience. Hope you make it to the exams.

I do feel like I'm on the back end of it, but I almost had the wife take me in last night. The stopper there was I would have schat myself on the way..several times...no doubt.
Death at home won out.
Doctors do home visits for a reason.

So what happen to Lendaddy? Last post was yesterday at 5:30pm. Is he in the hospital with no access to the internet, or did one of you guys go over to put him out of his misery?

SLO-BOB 01-20-2009 07:19 AM

He'll feel better after the inauguration.

lendaddy 01-20-2009 07:57 AM

I'm fine (relatively speaking). I took enough immodium to stop up an elephant and went downtown to take the exam. I'm confident that I did quite well but you never know.

My insides are bruised to beat all hell but I'm not feeling sick other than the occasional knock at the back door.

Thanks for everything guys, I'll let you know when I get the results.

FWIW, it was quite a cross section that applied. The last time they had 94 apply and this time it was 300+.

Nothing says fun like vomiting and explosive diarrhea. I'd bet on food poisoning. Been there once, I couldn't set foot in an Applebees for years after. Nothing short of a cork and diaper could have gotten me to a doctor's office, that really wasn't an option. Do doctors do on toilet housecalls?

red-beard 01-20-2009 09:17 AM

Are there doctors that do housecalls these days, at all?

Schumi 01-20-2009 09:21 AM

I had something like this hit me once, tons of vomiting and ungodly nausea and a fever of 104. I felt like my head was going to explode and had crazy hallucinations that felt real. I don't know what caused it. No one I knew was sick. It was not food poisoning. It was just pure crazy.

I was alone in my loft too, friends were gone on Spring Break. I solved the problem with tons of gatorade, ice packs, and some illicit drug use to put myself into a coma and let my body work it's way out of it. At one point I thought I was about to literally die. I thought I should try to write something on paper out just in case I did but that was too difficult. I should have went to the ER.

Bad sickness is extremely %&#%ty. I wish I was one of those people who just went to the hospital and paid into the insurance to be taken care of all the time.. but it only happens once every few years.

Yes, there is even one in Houston. Cash only, no insurance, sits down and actually talks to you instead of 4 minute "sprint exams", and can do housecalls.

Waking up in a bathtub, hung over, soaked in your own vomit and feces. Nice.

svandamme 01-20-2009 01:44 PM

At some point the crap and puke will end, the trick is to have enough scotch to see it through
