But you know, Denis, there's always a patrol car parked in front of the Israeli Consulate on Wilshire, and every time I've passed those two gigantic mansions on June Street that fly the Turkish flag, I've seen unmarked cars out front.

So maybe high value targets and individuals merit continued personal police protection. Or maybe the LAPD contracts out. I think that's what they do for film shoots.

Funny you should mention that and I don't wish to hijack but both she and I have both worked for WDW in Orlando in our pasts. I actually lived in FL for quite a few years. It was okay. Dunno how it'd be now. It's a bit of a moot point as I believe the company has indefinitely suspended all internal transfers because of the economy, so we're stuck here for now unless I can convince her to give up the gig at DL.

I've offered to buy her into the Disney Vacation Club if I get hired elsewhere and we have to move (I'm looking in a lot of other places, TX, AZ, even a couple in FL, etc.) Nobody's hiring ANYWHERE though. Lots of places collecting resumes, nobody actually hiring.

Rest assured, nothing that is likely to happen to the Israeli consulate will ever be prevented by a patrol car. It's pure window dressing. That reminds me of cops in the DC Metro wearing ninja suits and carrying SMG's. What's an MP-5 gonna do to deter or prevent a suicide bomber?
