Todd, did you win the 180xxx serial number made in 1976, I think it was? Nice looking gun.

Hal, no it is a brand new one. The used ones were going for about the same price and supposedly they have improved it over the years.

I have read the same thing about improvements over the years, especially that the newer ones are more accurate. This thread now has me thinking more about a Mini-30. Something about a 7.62 that is appealing.

I have tried to buy a few items off Gunbroker auctions but never "won." Was yours a true auction or "buy it now?" Look forward to hearing how the whole thing plays out, especially how you like the gun.

I have purchased two guns posted on Gunbroker, a Browning A5 (used) and a Bushmaster Varmiter (NIB). Both events were painless and the guns were exactly as advertised.

The Browning A5 I bid on and won at actions end. I did my homework and had a firm NTE bid in place. I felt the price I paid was good.

The Bushmaster I bought "but it now". I printed the "buy it now" price and took it to both local guns stores to see if they would match the price after me adding FFL and shipping fees to the "buy it now price".

I wanted to buy local since I was buying new. Both stores just laughed and said they couldn't get within $250.00 of the price....there are some huge "super stores" that post on Gunbroker and deal in volume that allows pricing below even Bushmaster's MSRP on the rifle I wanted.

Again, very happy with the deal.

i screamed "SCREAMED" (2) deals on gunbroker this past month. first juan was my HK-P9S in .45............for $800 bucks. 3 hours later on gunbroker and exact same apple to apple model went for $1400 bucks.

2 weeks later my 100 year aniv GOLD PLATED H&R HK4 in .380 and .22 NIB UN-FREEKING FIRED with original factory target in purple fuzzy presentation wood box i got for $800 bucks and a few hours later the exact same apple to apple item went out at $1200 bucks.

smoked some deals on gunbroker wayyyyyyyyyyyyy better than local yokal gun shows and local yokal gunstores.

Unfortunately, you can't snipe on Gunbroker, since last minutes bids extend the auction by 15 min.

Seller contacted me and we're ready to go. After shipping at whatnot it'll be close to what I would have paid from my local shop *but* none of them have any and were quoting 3-4 months to get one on order.

I've bought most of my guns on Gunbroker, except the 10-22, 5" Springfield 1911 and of course my M1. I've never had a problem and I research the prices before I commit. I also "snipe" the auctions, waiting until just before the end to put my price in. If the price is above my bid, I wait for another one.

My M1A, with a scope and extra mags was a very good deal, considering what these things are going for today.

And just about averything I've sold, was on Gun Broker.

The nice thing about Gunbroker over Guns America, they actually have the guns. Most of the friggen Guns America ads are just that, ads. You can then put down cash for "something else" and wait.

On GunBroker, they put an end to sniping, with their 15min rule. Any bids placed on any item within the last 15min of the auction, the 15min clock starts over again, for another 15 minutes. It will keep doing the 15min rule till the cows come home. So now at GB, they have killed sniping.

well, turns out the gun I won isn't the same model as is in the picture. I wondered about that and checked before sending payment. The seller is cool, admits that the guy who put up the auction messed up and offered me a tactical instead but flash suppressors aren't legal in CA. There are other ones available though, so the hunt continues...

Well, I know it is not "sniping". I log on 15 minutes before the end and put in my bid. I hate having guys "bid up". Except when I'm selling!

well, spoke too soon. Turns out he sold his last one yesterday and didn't realize it. So he's checking with his distributors to see if he can find another one. So it is back to gunbroker unless I'm willing to get either black/stainless or hardwood/stainless from a local shop.
