That depends solely on your willingness to piss blood for a few days. I think Mogs are awesome, but I wouldn't do trips that far in one.

Garage
Here are my 2 406 unimogs...

The yellow one is still in the US but I have owned it for nearly a year. It came with a schmidt plow and a backhoe.

The red one has under 1000 hours on it.

I put up a short video on youtube of the truck. It runs great, just needs some brake work. I just don't have time to fix it. My loss is your gain!!

There's a guy in Pearland (south of Houston) that's got one. I used to see him driving to work from time to time. It looked a lot like the yellow one from the OP. Driving next to it in my miata, I think the bottom of the frame was level with the top of my car.

As well as just put it on the Unimog exchange. Hurry, as at this price, it will not last long!! This truck drives great, with no leaks at all!! Just the brakes need a little TLC. I have the parts on hand to repair. Save yourself a bundle by doing it yourself. If I do it the price is going to jump way up. I just don't have the time with all of my other projects right now.

hold on... 300 TONS? If it could budge 30 tons I'd be impressed. 300? What kind of torque does this engine put out, 1000 ft/lbs? I can't imagine how beefy the entire drivetrain must be built. And as a previous poster commented, that is pretty much a permanent man card. That thing is ridiculous, in all the most awesome ways!

Last chance to buy this one as a whole truck! If it does not sell by the end of next week, I am going to part it out. So if you are looking for a great work truck or rock crawler this is the one!
