more slippery slope (zombie related)

The paperwork on the 10/22 is filed, tonight the Mini 14 gets taken care of, so of course there are things that one needs in preparation. Online ordering is dangerous...

3x 10rd mags for mini14
1x 5rd mag for mini14
2x 10rd mags for 10/22
Weaver style base for 10/22
Simmons 3-9x32 scope for 10/22 (inexpensive for the boy)

And of course ammo en route. Next are cheap bags for them but that'll be enough for now. Well, except for the 870...

The 10/22 has huge aftermarket support.

Or 1/3rd of a 30 rnd magazine.

Or 1/5th of a 50 rnd magazine.

Or a hell of a lot less than a 75 rnd magazine.

And don't get me started on those 100+ rnd drum magazines...

LOL...you can actually get 20 and 30 rd AR mags here that are modified to accept only 10 rds. So you can have the "look" of standard capacity and still be legal. I find it so ludicrous that here in Kaliforniastan we can buy as many damn 10 rounders as we please, but possession of a single >10 rounder could mean jail time. Who thinks up this garbage?

It's true, but you can also get "kits" to build 20 rounders, etc... Not saying that I would do such a thing or own any of them.

I have also heard that those limited capacity mags are quite simple to convert back to full capacity...not that I would know or ever do such a thing.

Here's another conundrum. The Sig 556 isn't on the CA approved list, but if a seller installs a bullet button on the mag it is "legal" as the magazine is "fixed." But once you pop the magazine out the gun becomes technically illegal. So if someone wanted to be a prick about it they could.

I'll just stick with the Mini 14 and 10rd mags for now...

That doesn't seem right. I thought that was how some of the assault rifles are legal here. As long as it requires a bullet or tool to remove the mag, it's legal.

Perhaps you should move to the America where we're free to own whatever sized mags we want.

Correct. That is how the AR-15 works in Cali.

Zombee unconditional luv!

hezus christos after reading nostatics whining about kalifornias goofy ass gun laws i figured after a weekend of tearing into my hk/benelli M1-super 90 12 gauge and giving that the foo foo upgrades, i might as well.......................

BUY ANOTHER JUAN!

yep i have been taking each and every platform i own , tearing it apart to the firing pin, lubing the hell outta them with MIL-COMM gizzy gizz lubricant and making each or my children happy beyond werds.

the hk/benelli was imported by hk for some time until they had creative differences. i picked up back in 1994, a 21" bird barrel vent rib model. had a uncle mikes nylon sling, and bought the pistol grip. wow waht a quail and dove gun. came with lead and steel chokes , five of them. a very versatile weapon.

after tearing it apart it suddenly happened. i got this URGE to go look at benelliusa.com..................and well you know the rest of the story.

yep gots me a brand new non kalifornia, diane feinstein, hello kitty approved M-2 pistol gripped, ghost ring sites, 18-1/2" barrel WITH CHOKES (3), semi-auto ZOMBEE LUV GUN!

DAMN DID I SLEEP WELL LAST NIGHT!

2- #6 bird shot and 3 -3" magnuum double ought bucks and i slept good!

picked up a wilderness.com GILES COMBAT WOMBAT 3-POINT SLING for both snotguns. aka the same as ya would get if ya bought a hk style wear at "port arms" type of sling. these are great for bird hunting/rattlesnake encounters. quick to shoulder and unobtrusive.

since we are gonna leave the 21" barrel as is , we will shift our focus to foo foo parts for dis juan.

next on the happy i dont live in kalifornia black/evil/feinstein/hello kitty list:

1) without a doubt and if i could have purchased i would have and installed already.........the extended MAG TUBE. lord knows this is how i stimulate the economy. 7 + 1. comes with mag tube to barrel clamp from tac-star/nordic components.

2) TRITIUM SITES! hell zombees only come out at night. not meprolights which i have read horror stories of crap quality control. but the GREEN 12 year warranty factory benelli nite sights. $90 bucks. orange tritium and yellow tritium sites only have 5 year warranty FYI.

3) blackhawk.com cheek pouch. holds 5 shells and has zippered pouch for chokes and choke wrench. very handy and well built. $30 bucks

4) GGGAZ.com (tucson) mega mongo bolt handle. these are really nice when its night time or ya have gloves on grabbing bolt handle and racking action back beginning the zombee love fest dance of DOOM! well worth $25 bucks. picked it up at arizona tactical supply.

5) another case of 3" magnuum double/triple ought buck rds.

6) a "hello kitty" sticker for the pistol grip stock.

yep this weekend spawn and i are gonna ventilate some targets. blast about 200 rounds (as i do every new weapon) and then bring back to the bat cave and tear it apart and clean and lube with q-tips every stinking part until it hurts. once again MIL-COMM lube will be used. love the stuff.

and then the M-2 will stand vigilant watch over me and my family, along with its trusty side kick mr. springfield .45 or mr hk .45 depending on what kind of mood i'm in. the zombeez get to figure dat juan out!

for sale (1) remington 870 12 gauge. 28" and 18" barrels. every known goody to man installed. oem wood stock-concours condition, fiberglass forearm and regular f/glass camo stock. fiberglass camo pistol grip stock, folding stock(hello kitty special). oversize safety, orange follower, heat shield, sling, extended mag tube, all chokes, side saddle shell holder, spare firing pin, spring, extractor etc. parkerized by ROBAR here. $550 firm as hell. shipped to yer FFL.

"Weaver style base for 10/22"
It should come in an envelope with the gun or are you looking for something besides a dovetail mount?

You probably shouldn't do what I did:
I bought a stainless mini 14 and proceeded to install a brass catcher, a flash suppressor, a tripod and a day/night scope, then I gave it to my uncle in Texas to hold for me so I wouldn't get in trouble for having it in the people's republik of Califorinia.
At the time they were a little weird about stuff that looks too much like a sniper rifle
Yeah I know it's a very small bore compared to real sniper rifles, but I'll be darned if it wouldn't have done the trick in a pinch.

+1
Edit: Nevermind. I just looked. Weaver rings can be had for the amount of change rolling around under your car seat....

10/22 is cool. Brownell's has plenty of custom parts if your wallet starts getting heavy.

So I went to the local gun shop a couple weeks back to look at a Mini14. Of course they are out of stock, have been for a while, but they have my contact info for the next shipment. Anyhow, the owner of the place seems to be really nice and after talking for a bit advises me to cool my jets for 6 months or so until gun/ammo prices and supply get back to normal. Before I leave two guys walk in and start looking at pistols. One of them says "I gotta get one now before they're all gone". The gun store owner says nice talking with ya - hope to see you again and walks on over to the guy with his wallet on the counter.

Thanks to Todd I'm interested in a Mini-14 that my son and I can shoot and possibly a shotgun for home defense...not that I've ever felt in danger...but just because... Here I have a gun store owner advising me to wait out the insanity. How do you guys feel? Is this gonna blow over in 6 months, 1 year, longer, never?

Iffn you were to take two of them 10 round mags, flip one around and duct tape em together so that the business ends were facing opposite directions, you could get a free pair of metal handcuffs also.

I'm starting to think that a certain majority of our politicians in CA. are zombies and don't want us shooting them all up.

We need to sic the ninjas on the zombies. But then who would protect us from the ninjas?

That's funny, because those are on my next three to pick up. A Mini 14, 10/22, and an 870. Haven't jumped on them yet because I just ordered the application to apply for my C&R license. I may see where that takes me before I actually get 'em.

Nice collection you have there! Now it's on line and 'Big Brother' IS watching....
