So that's my problem... I thought it was driving a smog producing 911 all those years.

Klean Kanteen and Wiggy's stainless water bottles are both made in China.

Wiggy's is an almost wholly American maker of out door products, but the stainless water bottles are one of the few items they outsource...

Hmm. Sounds like a good enough reason to learn to TIG weld. Or you could lathe one up out of a piece of stainless bar. Assuming of course the tools and materials were made in America you would be set.

My backpacking fuel is alcohol, so a plain ol' discarded water bottle works great. If I go away from using alcohol, I will probably use the Esbit tablets. They weigh almost nothing.

I love stainless steel.

You'd sell a ton of them if you stamped "Yeti" on them (at any price, apparently)

You will love it. hydro flask and yeti are famous high-quality water bottle brands, and I am a big fan of them personally. Whether it is summer or winter, the insulation effect is quite good.
Gotta say, this feel like SPAM to me.

+1. They have a flavor neutral inner coating so you don't get an "off" taste.

I have a double walled hydro flask (call me a vsco guy) that I fill up with well water every morning. Stays cool all day.

Wow. Superman’s post is so off the beaten path of this thread topic. Hahaha.

I may as well bring up breath mints now.

Was curious and googled it. You’re certainly not alone in your search. Found this interruption, especially the comments at the bottom about American Keg and as well as Klean Kanteen.

I started this thread in 2009.... Couldn't find a USA made stainless water bottle.

Love that all ya all opened up an 11 year old thread to again address this. Anybody have luck with a USA made (not finished or assembled but MADE) stainless water bottle?

angela

I think the post by dylanan must have popped it back up to the top of the list, and then it got deleted because it was spam.

You never know. I am very skeptical of a lot of things that say "made in the USA" because as you allude to, that could be "we bought metal bottles and lids from China and then screwed them together and stuck them in a package here in the US."
