The date on the article I posted was 2018 but saw others when I googled it with a 2020 date on them with no change.

Yeah I looked at aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium water bottles, canteens, and travel mugs. All made in China.

yep, I can't find anything made in the USA, only "finished" in the USA.
I did find one thing that is supposedly made in Japan (which I would trust) The "Snow Peak Kanpai Bottle" comes in 350 and 500ml variants. Amazon says that all of the Snow Peak stuff is made in Japan. The phrasing on their website isn't that clear. https://www.amazon.com/Snow-Peak-TW-070DS-Parent-Kanpai-Bottle/dp/B0032O6V5Y/

Back when I was in the metal manufacturing business in 2000 and earlier. The trend was high volume and high margin going off shore.
The work we had left in the US was largely the tweener stuff. Poor margin and middle or smaller volume. See how that worked out? Hopefully we can train ourselves to consume local goods going forward. I doubt it. |
