uggh. But I hate large apt buildings. If there is a closed hallway/entry I'm not interested. I prefer small buildings, say 2-8 units (my current building is 6 units). But everyone has their own preferences. I think if you're more east coast or midwest the larger complex with covered entries is more typical.
I like the courtyard style apartments that are common in Los Feliz. |

this move is going to be a multi step process. first is just a clean place, near work, near a place I start training again, safe parking, no ability to wrench needed now. then I will get my wife out here over the course of selling our home here, finding her job, etc. so this place will be a crash during the week type thing, I really only need a studio. I will probably store one 911 with TRE, keep the other with me. I need to bring the 500E out so I can sell it also.

You want to store a car outdoors you're welcome to park it on my 300 foot driveway in a small (25 home) gated community about 20 miles up the I-5 from Glendale. You can leave it there for six months for all I care, free too.

I drove by the building you were interested today (benefit of sudden unemployment) and it is indeed a HUGE building. The grounds looked okay but the location in between Los Feliz & Hollywood blvds. isn't ideal for cycling. You'll have to maneuver through a lot of traffic to get to Griffith Park. The upside is you'd be very close to Vermont street and it's great restaurants and funky shops.
There are some really nice places in Burbank. If you'd like I can swing by a couple tomorrow and get their phone numbers for you. Let me know if I can help, Michael

Thanks, that is very kind. I think I am going to recon the area when I get there. I've got a place via my new job so that will allow me to scope out an ideal spot. So for now I don't need that but I'll be leaning on you guys when I get in town. I need to learn more about the park. Is it safe in the evening (dusk and early dark)?

Nah, just the neighbors thinking I bought another car is reason enough. Seriously you can leave it and take the keys. Just don't look to me if we have a brush fire and I can't move the car. You do know about SoCal and brush fires don't you?

Now we are on the subject, Little Armenia is just about half a mile from there, amd Thai town too. I went to high school about helf a mile from there in the much nicer part of Los Feliz. Those condo or apartment is too close to Hollywood blvd for me, too crowded. Parking is a Bit#h. Great place if you are single. Looks like you like city living. If so, that's the place to be. Walk to great restaurants (many on Vermont and Hillhurst) or 3 - 5 minutes of driving. Check out someone that has a back house for rent. There are many around silverlake or in Los Feliz. They tend to be in the nicer ( and a heck of a lot more expensive part of the neighborhood) quiet residential areas.

Just wanted to pop in and +1 on Silverlake, Mt Washington, and Pasadena.
A co-worker lives in Pasadena and while I love my ocean view and the clean air associated with it she lives a block from, the train station, a brick oven wood fired pizza place, a wine bar, plus walking distance to markets, sushi bar, BBQ, etc. And don't get me started on old town Pasadena... ![]()
