If I was a Car, I would Park Myself

I can't believe it, last week I get a not so good MRI report, but a good report on the biopsies on my hand & stitches removed, felt well enough to ride with my partner to a DE for the weekend, and now this I went to the doc yesterday, on even more meds, go back tomorrow

I had a staph infection in my ankle, it swelled up like a balloon. They gave me a shot of Keflex in my a$$, felt like I'd been kicked by a mule.

Well, the good new is the Doc didn't put me in the hospital The nurse told me that she already had the paper work ready to admit me But he did put a big hole in my leg & dug a bunch of crap out I have to keep taking the antibiotics (2 different ones) and go back on Tues if it isn't noticeably better Boy was it messy

Maybe we could get you a quick Maaco paint job and sell you real quick before you throw a rod or something. I would attack that infection from the inside, using alcohol. I've done it many times, and it has always worked well for me.

That's not something to mess with. Stay on top of the infection, it can get very serious very quick. Listen to the Dr. and don't take ANY chances. Karl 88 Targa | ||

Don't like the color of those toes. Ask your doc about using a Koch(sounds like "coke")-Mason dressing. Put on primary dressing(dry gauze, maybe telfa so it does not stick too badly), warm(NOT hot)damp wash cloth over wound, wrap dry hand towel over this, then cover with saran wrap. This holds in the heat, the dry towel on the outside will will act like a wick to draw crap out of wound as the damp wash cloth dries out. Use a wash cloth that you can bleach after, and mayber discard if it is too badly stained. Don't go to sleep wearing the rig described, only need to leave it on a few hours. If your toes start turning blue(okay more blue) remove wrapping. Warm moist compresses work well on a wound like that. You want to promote drainage. If you put a most dressing on a wound, and cover with dry, it will pull crap out of the wound, even without using the saran wrap. DO NOT PUT ALCOHOL IN A WOUND; alcohol is for drinkin', not wound care. Depending on the antibiotics, booze down the hatch might not be too good either. Good rule of thumb is you would not put something in a wound you would not put in your eye, so no straight iodine either, must be diluted. Moist wound evironment is more favorable for healing. Plenty of peer reviewed studies I could cite, but you don't want to read that crap. Are you diabetic Byron? If so, watch your sugars, they will tend to spike with infection
