My Brother and I went to one PCA Meeting sporting our GruppeB hats, needless to say but it was our last meeting!

Based on the post and the items on your hood, they may not be the problem.

Pelican is organizing a wine tasting tour. Draw your own conclusions.

Yeah...I agree, take her in dirty when you go.... only thing that could make it any better is that you wear flip flops & cut offs, wife beater & 80's model shades, put all the goodies in a walmart bag & add about 2 extra quarts of oil to the ol' 911 before you go.... just so you have a 3 mile long smoke screen following you when you arrive.... ![]() P.S. Please post pics...

In law school a rite of passage was an unofficial reception hosted by the upperclassmen for 1L's during their first week. We'd have a keg or two and several decent, inexpensive wines. Also was an hordouerve table. Mixed in amongst the appetizing nibblies we would put a bowl of "kibbles and Bits" sauteed in butter with a creole seasoning. Or liver flavored catfood as a pate' with some gourmet crackers on the side. Or a loaded nacho plate type dish where the "chilli" was made with canned dog food. You get the idea.
It was such a hoot to watch the 1L's try to be gracious and poised as they sampled the offerings. Of course, the best part was letting them in on the gag (pun intended) at the end of the evening. Ahhhhh. Those were the days of wine and roses. And Kibbles and Bits. And Alpo.

LOL! reminds me of the time I put exlax gum in my chicklet pack and let my little nephew steal them like he always stole my change etc... off my dresser.... He was about 12, little did I know that day my sister and bio were taking off on a long road trip with him... they came home a couple days later and were gonna take him to the emergency room... I had to pull the bio aside and let him in on the prank....

Haha. That's funny(The wine, cheese, and crackers....not the exlax. The exlax sounds kinda dangerous, not knowing how much someone might eat.). Personally I would've picked a can of Cheese Wiz over the Velveeta. Maybe it's a bit more redneck which would fit in down here. I guess you could take a box of Q-tips in case someone forgot theirs. All in good fun, of course.
I admire the crowd that can clean their car like there's no tomorrow, but I have neither the time nor inclination. I'll try to keep mine running and make it faster when I can. If I had more time to spend on itI'd spend more time trying to make it go fast.......

The region I belong to transformed itself a couple of years ago - from mostly wine and cheese events to monthly autocross events at a huge venue (the runways at a former Marine Corps Air Station). The events are by far the most heavily attended of all activities and always sell out (over 100 cars each time). Everyone has a great time and you'll find all kinds of Porsches there - from 914's and 924's to brand new GT3 RS's and GT2's. Many of the cars are trailered in due to the fact that they are PCA and /or POC club racers. We have a fun group now.
And to think, I was going to dump my membership a couple of years ago. I'm glad I didn't. |

We've only been involved for a couple months, but from what we've seen, there seams to be quite a mix of personalities. Some may belong to the 'wine & cheese' club, but most are drivers. AX, track, rally, you name it, they may have raced it. I guess you'll find what you're looking for at the PCA, if you're looking for wine & cheese, you'll find a few of them, if you're looking for drivers with race experence you'll find that too.

I agree about the OC region. I've been to a few functions (autocross, day away from work at Streets, etc) and have always found the group to be very down to earth and true car people. BTW, you probably have seen my Pops at a few of the driving events or even on a wine and cheese tour. He drives a nice, low mileage, silver '89 911 Anniversary Edition, but he's not afraid to track it. ![]() Dueller, great thread. ![]() |

Oh, and by the way, I LOVE wine... but sometimes, if you're really honest with yourself, you'd just rather have a beer; chances are, if what I'm doing involves a car, I'd usually rather have a beer.

try the cheese in a can, that might do it
reminds me of a trip to rodeo. my daughter likes to compete in horse jumping. so we took a nice ride in the 911 to her friends farm where they were putting on a small rodeo, mostly barrel racing. her instructor was there with some of the other girls. i said to her, seems to be more friendly here, she said yea, its usually not quite so snobby. even though we pulled up in the 911 and didnt have a single western belt buckle between us, we got a lot more hey how are you than all the jumping shows we have been to.

No. I love $20 salads. As long as they come with a 16 oz. ribeye and a baked potato.
