Nice. I like the factory drag car history even if I was born too late to experience it first hand.

![]() ![]() ![]() ...and this last picture, as you can see, is from my cell phone. It's my son Hayden standing where the engine should be in my brother's 39 Pontiac coupe. You can see his 64 Fairlane (done Thunderbolt style with tear drop hood) in the background.

Love those altered wheel based cars. Ramchargers too. My uncle has a 62 Catalina that he raced in the 60s and 70s that he purchased from Royal Pontiac. It's a really cool car.

ha-ha they must all be on the car show circuit nowadays. I got Paul LeMats' autograph 2 years ago at the local World of Wheels show. He was Milner and was there with his yellow coupe...he looked much worse for wear than Candy.

The basics on the GTO in the top pic:

1965 GTO "street car"...1400 hp on a fat tune-up. 565 ci Pontiac on 2 stages of sauce. Turns 8.30 in the full 1/4 Gotta admit, my '65 wasn't quite that fast.. I recall back in high school, guys debating if the 10 second barrier would ever be broken...yeah, giving my age away...

My Uncle was the engine builder for drag race team out of Tacoma, WA. Joint Venture ran as a team in the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's. He passed away in 2006 after a long battle with cancer. However I still have some great memories as kid going to the races with Uncle Mac. Here are some photo's of the team and cars through the years...
