Billy Bob Thornton—what an arse...

This interview on Canadian public radio/TV has gained a lot of notoriety in the last 24 hours.

BBT calls Canadians "mashed potatoes without the gravy" and generally behaves like a complete dildo throughout.

Most Canadian want to know why he wasn't turfed out of the studio...

Check it out here:

He seemed and looked stoned.

HardDrive 04-09-2009 10:59 AM

My man is messed up. Not sure what kind of drugs he's doing, but he's in deep.

I've seen folks on hallucinogens act that way.

Poor BillyBob. I'm not an actor, I'm a musician.

Seems to me like he's going through a Jim Morrison fantasy phase?

unlike joaquin phoenix, bbt at least finally gave a reason [of sorts] as to why he was being a bit of a pill to interview. still though, he came across as a real jerk. i feel sorry for his bandmates.
letterman would have made hash of him.

"Doucheblade", as a friend of mine said today.

JavaBrewer 04-09-2009 11:23 AM

Billy Bob is a complex artist...

Because he has been known to hit people in the head with sharpened lawnmower blades...

Odd. I always thought he preferred "french fried potaters".

how dare an actor criticize canada. doesn't he know he's supposed to be *****ing about america?

craigster59 04-09-2009 11:49 AM

I have met and worked with the man and let me tell you, anyone who is afraid of antiques and the color orange is a little bit off.

Mo_Gearhead 04-09-2009 12:01 PM

He was obviously confused.

Even forgot to wear the requisite black, horned rimmed eye-glasses.

I think when Angelina left him for the boy from Missouri, she took more out of him than just the tiny vial of blood.

Just another middle-aged movie star ...pondering his bleak future.

vash 04-09-2009 12:25 PM

he came off like a pecker. howard played the interview this morning.

i think the best thing billbob has ever done, is slingblade, and jolie...maybe not in that order of faves.

Dave L 04-09-2009 04:10 PM

I feel bad for the other musicians, this is probably thier big break and they are tied to this drugged up morron.

Bill Douglas 04-09-2009 04:46 PM

He comes across as a real noddy.

ramonesfreak 04-09-2009 05:39 PM

first thing that came to mind after watching this was this was the john lydon interview in japan. not that i would ever compare the great john lydon to this douche...but the tone and attitude were so similar that i found it interesting

and this lou reed interview

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/mf2pF5oMdP4&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/mf2pF5oMdP4&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

maybe BBT has been studying these and thought he would come of as cool?

Hendog 04-09-2009 05:44 PM

I listened to part of that interview. I missed the opening so I didn't know who the "guest" was, then I had to leave before it was over. I thought "what a prick of a guest".

I suppose a catch 22 question would be "who do you think you are?" If he didn't want to discuss his past accomplishments then he'd just be a starting musician (drummer) in a band who couldn't ligitimize in his own mind his attitude...

ramonesfreak 04-09-2009 05:46 PM

I also thought that the horrifically rude Lou Reed interview in the November 2008 Spin magazine was amazingly similar to this as well. Being a Lou Reed fan for 25 years now, i read it and thought what an amazingly overly sensitive moody and classless prick
