Any idea what brand this tool box is?
Picked it up at Goodwill for $20. Don't think it's a Snap On, but don't know for sure.

It wouldn't surprise me if it was a Snap-On. The last company I saw that used the cabinet style pull handle and a narrow solid caster was Stack-On. It looks to be a good quality box and for $20 you didn't go wrong at all. You could sell it for close to $100 in good used condition. Do the drawer slides have much play in them?

Those wheels are might narrow for a Snap-on, even a light duty one. If it is a Snap-on it will be stamped in the back of the cabinet along with the model and serial number.

I have one similar. Cheap sliders, cheap casters. Those are hardware store handles. Anyone who thought this could be a Snap On hasn't ever owned one.
That cabinet was sold by a million retailers, most notably Sears. |

This guy probably just took the Snap On emblem off another box... since these handles only come from hardware stores...

Well.... it's because Snap On and other tool companies used (or had their suppliers use) this type of handle for many, many years. It's not a secret... just not everyone knows! lol
And check this out... Snap On is NOT a tool manufacturer! Yep, I said it! lol They order their tools custom made to their specifications from the lowest bidder and/or best supplier.

About 15 years ago I ordered 5 sets of proto tools with roll-aways to re-stock the shop i was running at the time.
3 of the roll-aways had proto emblems, two had snap-on emblems. Identical tool boxes, identical manufacturer, everything. Except for the emblems. Evidently they sent me the snap-on boxes just to fill the order but only charged me for 5 proto boxes. I wonder how much extra that snap-on plastic emblem usually costs? Prolly doubled the cost under normal circumstances. Snap-on is one of the biggest rip-offs going. |

In the UK we have a chest named stack on im almost 100% yours is very alike. Though you got a deal for $20

Waterloo, based out of Waterloo, IA with a facility in Pocahontas, AR (my home town) and another facility in Sedalia, MO, made boxes for every tool company I know of.... not every year, cause I guess they didn't get every contract... but I've personally seen the boxes and the emblems. I had several relatives who worked there, my x worked there and I worked there for a while. All their boxes are made overseas now.
