I had a Rolex GMT Pepsi for over ten years, I sold it and have had sellers remorse since. Last year my wife bought me a new one, I don't care if other people see it, I just like it. Like the 911, I like it. If I wanted something everyone paid attention to I would have kept the 71 455 Skylark or the 64 Vette.

IMO - the best watch site for collectors to learn about, talk about and buy and sell fine time pieces is... www.timezone.com
Every brand has it's own forum and there are 2 selling areas as well - one for below $5K and one for over $5K
Do your research - When you buy one of these (or other brands) right, the value will continue to rise.
There are many brands that I like better than a Rolex for the money - Look at what's available in Glashuette, Panerai, Omega, J&L
Have fun with your research!

I'd love a well built, fake RS or RSR.

I have loved the look of the Rolex stainless submariner for a long, long time. Could I buy one? Yes. Would I? No. I just can't see strapping something that expensive on my wrist. Nor can I see myself wearing a fake Rolex.

The Invicta 8926 automatic has the same style as the submariner, but clearly says Invicta on the face, side, and band. I have no regrets on my $90 Invicta. If it gets bumped, I don't have a heart attack. If it was lost or broken, I'd buy another one just like it.

Wenger Swiss Military Stainless 200m Crystal Glass - $59 at Costco. I sometimes can tell people are checking it out to see if it is something expensive - My wife bought it for me for skin diving and I liked it so much I now wear it all the time - except during heavy wrenching ...

edit: Swiss Made to boot!

I heard of a guy who got his hand chopped off with a machete, just so some malcontent swine in Phnom Penh could steal his fake $45.- Rolex.

Would be really embarrassing to lose your hand for a fake watch, don't you think?

Much more satisfying to lose it for a real $21,000 gold Submariner!

Funny! My most "checked out" watch is a Timex I bought new in the box from Goodwill's auction site for $37. I actually had a guy stop me in a store the other day to ask what brand it was. "Ummm... Timex."

I refuse to be seen wearing a Timex watch. I do like the look of a lot of them, but refuse to strap such a bourgeois brand on my wrist (why advertise one's lack of means?).

I have, however, been searching for years for Timex knock-offs, which I would happily wear, knowing that I could scoff authentically, and even smirk openly, at the makers of condescending comments when I tell them it's a fake.

Does anyone know where Timex fakes can be bought?

Joeaksa is the only person who has ever noticed or asked about my Sinn. I've only ever seen two others on people and one was at an event hosted by Sinn's US distributor. The other was on a guy in the grocery store who was pretty surprised I recognized his watch.

I'm really way past all the fake Timexes.

I'd like to buy a fake Fossil.

Or a fake Invicta.

My goal is a faux stainless sub for $3.00 or less.

There are many kinds of fake rolex out there. Once, my friend and I was walking and a guy asked if we want to buy his brand new rolex, with tag, for couple hundred bucks. My friend had $100 bucks with him and agreed. We both know it's fake, for that price but when I got to a watch store in the mall. The manager (was repairing a bunch of rolex) look carefully and told us "I can't give you much for it". We weren't going to sell it but just want to know. I ask how much? "he said below $3k". I was making sure "but this is real and brand new". He said "yeah, but I can't give you much more for it". Later on his relative could prove that it's fake. I forgot how.

They may not sell them in Tiajuana, but if you asked, I'd bet one could be custom made...

In jr. high school I saved up and bought my new little girlfriend a good watch for her birthday. I had a date to take her to a movie on that day and was waiting for her in her living room with her father glaring at me, saying nothing.

Nervously, I told him I was looking forward to giving his little girl her birthday present. Unsmiling, he asked what, then kicked my ass out of his house and halfway down the block when I told him I was going to give her a nice Gruen.

Bill Clinton wore a Timex until the French President gave him something nice, told him a man in his position should have a nice watch.
China makes fake Seiko watches so I think Darsc should be able to get his fake Timex there. Or at a gas station if he would fill up his tank.
