True to the trained eye, but the fake Rota Fuchs are bought because they look like Fuchs and/or for their poser panache, the same reasons fake Rolex watches have a market; both are inferior products, the Rota fakes in particular - but that's hijacking this thread.

Jeez, calling the Fuchs inspired modern wheels fakes doesn't seem right to me. The fakes were the awful ones made up for the VW guys. Anyway, maybe a 17" Rolex would be OK.

Or, how about a bezel that looks like a Fuchs, that would really give some bling!

I still don't understand why you would consider buying a fake Rolex.

I would consider wearing a fake when travelling in developing countries or high crime areas. Not that I'd want to attract attention to myself. But as long as you run some risk of getting robbed, might as well not let them get away with the real thing.

My reason is very simple..... I like the look and style but do not want to pay $$$ even for a pawned one.

No matter what you do, you NEED to take some pictures of your expensive watches in front of the wheels of all your expensive cars.

Then post a thread on that.

Oh wait, thats already been done.

Lots of watches have a nice look and style. You wear a Rolex to project a certain image. The irony of wearing a fake watch to make people think you have money is interesting.

So by wearing a fake you still attract attention, when the guy robs you and sees you are a fake and gets pissed then what?

That's the only reason to have a really good fake.

He tells you to sign a bill of sale, so he can get the watch checked out and then come find you if it's a fake. Yeah, that's how it works.

I have worn a Rolex watch for more than 30 years....I no longer wear a watch daily and if I feel the need to wear a watch my Debaufre at a cost of around $600.00 keeps better time than any of the rolex watches that I have owned. I suspect as one gets older they tend to lose interest in some things in life....I buy things for myself not to impress others .... I buy them for me :-)

Hey, no one ever notices my Sinn U2, but I feel naked without it. It's the first thing I put on when I climb out of bed in the morning. I work from home and still can't stand not having it on my wrist all day. It is a work of art, but only if you're a watch guy.
