it is a beck, but god help me, i just bought a thunder ranch with a 2.7 flat six that will never be as nice as the one that angela has. so far the tr is a bucket full of trouble, i am hoping for a happy ending on that.
the beck, on the other hand is a complete joy. last year i had the hot vw mill swapped out for a 356 sc spec lump. not as much power but as reliable and trouble free as can be.

I second that. A neighbor has an early Beck with VW motor that leaves my 223 hp SC in its dust.

At the risk of hi-jacking this thread (which was getting kinda old anyway) —what's the essential difference between a Beck and a TR???

I don't know the details, but it's my understanding that TR acquired rights/molds/whatever, to whatever degree, from Beck. To what extent TR has changed up what Beck did, I don't know.

the main difference that i was looking for was the possibility of 911 engine fitment, not available with the beck.

So, are real pre-owned Rolexes getting any cheaper with the recession and all? Any deals being seen out there?

Sure - go to www.timezone.com
Look under the Community section - there are 2 sales areas - sales corner and TZ showcase.
IMO - this is the best site for good watches.

Just get a few of the copies and compare them against your real Rolex... you will be able to spot certain things. The min differences are just the internal workings and the lack of gems where they need to be.
