Challenges in life
Everyone has their own challenges to face in life. It might be safe to say that my oldest son has more than his fair share!
Well yesterday my son passed is High School exit exam on his first try, in the tenth grade! He still has two more years of High School but will not need to worry about the exit exam. He already has enough to worry about! My wife and I could not be prouder! Here are the two of us touring Stanford, UC Davis and UC Berkeley ![]() ![]() ![]() Steve

Congrats!
Only big schools though? And if he's considering Berkeley, Santa Cruz could be another option. |

Steve,
Probably the greatest series of pictures I've seen posted--the look on both your faces says it all! Congratulations to your son, and to you and your wife! Go Cardinal! Go Aggies! Go Bears!

Tell him I think he kicks ass. Not, "the guys on Pelican Parts thought it was great you passed your test", no, tell him he kicks ass.

Way to go Steve's son!
I'm glad I didn't have an exit exam. Tests and I don't agree.

Thanks everyone
On his spring break this year we toured Fresno, Sacramento, Davis, East Bay, U of San Fran, Berkeley, San Jose, Stanford, SAnta Cruz, Santa Barbara, UCLA, USC Long Beach. Next year we are planning on touring some schools back East and Mid West but I don't think schools where it snows are going to be an option. He can not speak and the computer he uses to communicate and winter really wouldn't mix. Plus when he is loaded for school with both computers (you can see the mounting bar on his wheelchair in one picture) and getting in and out of winter clothes might be too much. We are not telling him no but I think after we visit in the winter he might re think back East. We are very proud of him. We have always told him his future is going to have to be with intelligence and the best way to utilize that is through school. It looks like he has been listening Thanks again for the comments. It lifts our hearts. Remember he might be looking for a job in a few years, or he might be looking to hire in a few more. Steve

California now requires HS students to pass a test before they can graduate. Too many kids in the state, were getting diplomas that they didn't deserve. Texas and New York have similar programs.
If anyone would like to discuss this further, please start a new thread. ![]()
